IC [Exalted 3e] The Pirates of the Gilded Throne

Lessons frowns. That didn't sound good. Diane, Laughter and the others were oblivious to the threat coming their way. And what if they got to the ship first... they weren't defenseless, far from it, but most of the Exalted among them were here on this island. He feels torn. He hasn't recovered the heart of the lighthouse yet and if he does not many might suffer. But if he remains without warning the others his friend might suffer for it. The good of the many ought to outweigh that of the few. But in his heart it does not.

Silently he retreats from the ancient temple, slipping back into the cave system to warn the others of the impending danger. It seems like the time for a retreat had come at last.

Am I able to see where he came from? Is the room relatively open? Did he just pop out of the shadows? Any reason not to think there's someone else in here still unseen and this guy is a trap?
