It's come to my attention that the forum software is or was somewhat limited, in that it can't actually ban an account permanently. I have seen at least one case in which somebody that was given such a ban was able to resume posting without having made a successful appeal, leading to their ban being renewed.
I believe that it's possible that there may be other people in a similar situation.
Is it appropriate or desired to bring such cases to the attention of the moderators, so that they can judge whether or not a person resuming their account is permissible?
