Disappearing threads

Okay, so, the entire LGBT discussion thread disappeared? That would be troubling on its own even without the specifics of what kind of discourse and information being archived that has resulted in a loss of.

And it's not the first time. I noticed a few months ago that the Games Discussion thread on Off-Topic also vanished.

Can anything be explained about this?
