  • Water on Mars! So what for Cavaliers then?

NASA has officially confirmed that flowering water was on Mars - so there where water filled canals. So there could be Venetia-like cities and trade routes on the face of this desert planet. And few millions ago Red Planet could have been green and blue with waters and forests, like Earth.

So what does this all could mean for the setting of Cavaliers?

I would say it is still too soon to actually speak of a green and blue Mars in RL, but it is a piece of news that does offer some inspiration/reinforcement to the imagery Cavaliers' setting is based upon.

      It's cool news, isn't it?

Although our map of Mars isn't entirely realistic, the ocean that's been theorized for the last few years is a part of the Cavaliers backstory. There's a beached formerly-undersea First Martian city to explore...

Damn turning of the ages, stranding our port cities in the middle of land and sands!

One find hints of stuff like that all the time when exploring rediscovered ruins of ancient cities - should be an even more marked phenomena in the setting's Mars with millenia of cultures cycling between civilization & barbarism and all the enviromental change/decay, so to speak.

Very interesting information that there was water on Mars. Maybe it even existed life there? It will be very interesting to see what new discoveries will be made, if any, in the years to come.
