  • I think we were using the healing rules wrong in Exalted. If you heal a lethal wound, you check out the box, it doesnt downgrades to bashing?

Apparently I misunderstood a previous discussion with Vance; he verifies that dematerialized beings can interact with each other. Please disregard my previous statement in this regard.

(I really need to learn to leave rules questions to Vance. )

      • So, first off I definitely pegged minton as an eclipse, and I knew vance was gonna be a sidereal, and given this thread serenity is the obvious answer.

A question about Arms, are we going to see artifacts that were made by different exalt types? So much of 2E was attributed to the solars, it felt like no other exalt type bothered. I'd love to see wonders forged by sidereals or lunars. I'd also be curious to see if any amazing artifacts of note (not necessarily NA, but 4 or 5 dot), were forged by Dragon Blooded during the first age. Will there be things like that?

Yes; there are many artifacts in the book that are explicitly described as having been created by Sidereals, Lunars, Dragon-Blooded (First Age and otherwise), and so forth. A few were even created by unExalted artisans.

          • Resurrection is hard coded into a nope, but what about a working of artifact that you set up before hand to prevent death. Like setting up a soul trapping jar before a war to capture the souls of your soldiers before death, and then you make them a new body.

You can do that, or something similar, but transplanting someone's soul into a new body=/=recreating the original person. There may not be a total loss of identity, but the recovery is not complete enough to completely undo the sting of death.

Assume you got like an extra 200 likes from me. That makes me very happy. I actually kinda like craft in 3E, and while I admit there is a lot of solar charm bloat, I can see characters in the system I'd like to make. Knowing in the system there's a precedent I can use for inspiration, and even see its not "And then this TWILIGHT made this", makes me really happy.

                • So I have finally gotten around to ST'ing 3e and I just wanted to ask a few questions about the upcoming releases if possible.

Is there any chance of seeing any artifacts or hearthstones in Arms that would make a War supernal general excited? Running kingdom building and throwing armies around is fast becoming some of our favorite things and it would be nice if there was some more rewards I could throw at one of my players specific for investing so heavily down this route.

Secondly is the concept of legendary breeding still a thing in 3e? I assume it would lack the extra mote component from earlier editions to more fit in with the current design philosophy but I've often seen it as a really interesting narrative tool to be able to use both as a player and as a ST. It would be nice to know if it is possible to see that kind of social influence available in the DB release, either just as a mention or as an actual merit.

                  • In Older editions Exalted and spirits could reach skills above 5 and some artifacts and manse items had beyond 5 dot in a skill prerequisites before you could build them. I may be wrong but I believe it has been stated before you guys don't intend to have skills go above 5 for exalted. So if that is true any advice for the limits of translating these items or manse aspects? Or If that is not true how would one raise a skill above 5?

We have planned to make a charm that goes after Wholeness-Restoring Meditation that allows a solar to "cure" someone up to Essence days after their death. Should there also be side effects? Its an essence 4 charm, so we thought that it was balanced to heal to perfect health.

                      • So, are Liminals going to have Auras and Signature Charms, being the other Element Aspected Exalt type, or will you be doing something else with them? This is, of course, theoretical since they won't be coming out for quite a time.

Correct - healing a health level clears it completely.

Liminal Aspects aren't tied to elements.

The Elemental Aura and Signature Charms are unique to Dragon-Blooded.

Resurrecting the dead is beyond the capability of even Solar Medicine. You're free to ignore that and make a Charm that does it if your playgroup wants to, but that sort of effect won't appear in published material.

                              • How happy would it make you to know how much I adore the direction you're taking the Dragonblooded in this edition?
