That, and then stuff like Malfean lead, the bones of slain behemoths, etc.

Also there's mention of a prayer roll in one of her charms, Willing Souls Tempered. What would a prayer roll be in Third Edition?
Whoops! Prayer rolls were cut from the systems chapter; for purposes of that Charm, at least, it's a (Charisma + Performance) roll at difficulty (5 - Resources value of offerings).

Don't have it set in stone yet, but if the Adamant Caste aren't resonant with adamant, then what the hell?

        • In your conception of Lunars, will they have any illusion-based powers? They had a few in 2nd ed, but there was some talk of them not having anything illusion-based this edition.

They won't have D&D-style illusion spells, but I can think of ways in which illusionary effects could emerge from their overarching theme of predation, or from the Changing Moons' archetypal role as tricksters.

Appearance is less a measure of objective beauty and more about knowing how to use it and leverage it to your advantage. Training Appearance isn't about becoming more beautiful, but about becoming more confident in your own skin.

                    Very cool.

Much obliged! I understand how over the course of design something like that might get left in. Is a prayer roll as a unified concept like this something you want to use as a concept in Ex3, or is this just a concept that was meant to be dummied out?

The latter. It may show up in individual things, like Alveua's Charms or the Pact with an Ifrit initiation, but it's not a system-level thing.

                      • Is the Immaculate Prayer Calendar a Universal thing, or is it localized with only a few gods having universal prayer days? It was said before that Dragonblooded Immaculates direct the Thanks and prayer of Mortals during festival days rather then Mortals praying themselves. Another Forumite argued this wasn't the case and its flat out Mortals never give thanks even in Festival days, and Gods could have cults just from the Empress nodding her head once a year. That didn't seem right. So do Immaculates have mortals direct their prayer to them and they channel it to the right Gods? Prayers are that flexible?

So essentially, training up Appearance could be equivalent to the typical movie montage where they have the actress take off the big coke bottle glasses, let her hair out of the bun, dress in non-baggy clothes and suddenly *wham*, she's super pretty despite being "plain" before?

Is this a change from the description on page 148? That made it seem that Appearance was in significant part about being beautiful unless you have the Hideous merit, like there was a toggle switch between two choices of where the extremes go and the use of neutral language like "striking looks" was to account for said switch.

Nah, that was my intent when I wrote it. 148 says "a measure of his striking looks and his ability to use them." Training Appearance isn't about getting even more striking looks—how would you even do that? Maybe some kind of Sidereal martial art...

Would Medicine Charms or the like also get your foot into that arena? Or even just Medicine without Charms?
