Yeah that character is super neat and I predict that it'll go over really well with the fanbase for exactly the same reasons that the Update #41 spoiler is getting some criticism.

When Heaven forbids Exigents, only forbidden gods will have Exigents. The Hanged Man wrote: Space. Pfft, whatever. I can kick Space's ass with a starting Dynast.

What do those symbols on her armor mean? Sorry, I'm not educated in East Asian languages- assuming, of course, they are actually meaningful.

This exactly. Hug Ninja, she looks awesome.

Characters, not symbols. Blood, horse, and I believe family. Respectively, just under her neck, left and right.

I will admit to always getting a little tickle of genuine mirth at the any mention of the phrase "bikini witch," so descriptive-yet-absurd.

And then, inevitably, it shrivels and dies when I read any of the mirthless argument that follows.

Also, Hug Ninja, pretty cool, that.

Blood (Kanji), Horse (Chinese Zodiac symbol) and Family (Kanji) respectively.
Feather's homeland has a similar caste system to Varang but instead of using the stars practices a blood based divination of a newborn's potential and her blood said she was born to ride.

I am working desperately to not quote Springstein right now.

You know, I sort of want to play a game. You know, post pictures of characters from various shows, comics, or video games, and see if people can guess their personalities from their pictures. Like, for example, I'm sure no one who hasn't played BlazBlue is going to know this character's story, just by looking at her, while I'm sure most of you could figure out this guy's story in two seconds, even if you've never touched the games.

That, by the by, is a textbook example of the Bikini Witch problem.

Knowing nothing of either of these games (or even, hell, the genre, which might put me at an increased disadvantage) I'll bite-- though I will admit that I find the whole exercise extremely difficult. Perhaps I'm not good at judging any character by their appearance? Anyway, here goes nothin':

So, the woman. I'll grant there're absurd proportions there. But judging from expression and accoutrements, I would assume she's a combatant, probably a brawler. The thing on her left arm may supercharge her punches. Or maybe it's a gun? Anyway, I'd say she's a warrior. She seems to be stern, probably a bit serious and hard to get along with.

I find the man a bit harder. He's...a villain with a flamboyant penchant for masquerades? The woman in his picture I do take for a subservient of some kind-- personal secretary perhaps? If I'm to assume that, given he was in a game, he might have some ability that makes him effective in adventuring settings, I would lean towards magical abilities more than physical ones? Though he does seems to have a social flair, too.

                      How'd I do?

This is a picture I coloured a while back for a Chuubo character who I like to think is a good example of empowered. She's wearing a tight shirt, shorts, but her muscles have definition, she has a ready stance, and generally looks ready for a fight. Yet her clothes show her off. Most importantly, they show her off not in a sexualized manner but the force she's capable and willing to bring to bear.

                          Poses are a huge deal.
A lot of the women in the Miss Universe thread look surprisingly badass because they're professionals who know how to carry themselves with dignity in outfits that should by all rights look incredibly goofy.

Exactly, Lioness, which is why I've said that Appearance as a stat should in part be a large bit of just knowing how to hold yourself and how your body language is communicating to others. You know, it's strange, but I just realized, on a side note, that I grew better at understanding my own body language after I started focusing more on understanding the body language of others. I once used this to help get a couple of friends dating. He was a wreck and convinced she disliked him, and I was able to break down all the things she had done that showed interest in him instead, such as leaning forward towards him as he talked (and was very drunk with brewery breath) among other things.

How to recognize a chainmail bikini witch:
                              • Spine: A bikini witch's spine is thing of both wonder and horror. Infused with Luna's essence, these thing can turn 180o degree and not kill their host.
                              • Boobs: If left unchecked, the prismatic essence within a bikini's boobs will continuously expand and turn into gigantic twin-star that devour everything in their path, that why they have to forsake the pleasure of wearing a bra (or sarashi if you are an anti-city Lunar), this will make their boobs jiggle and thus can seal the mighty power of her breasts into a single moment that stretch into infinity.
                              • Pose: Every apprentice witch must know the Forty-Nine Kata of Pain, a series of stance that help control their chaotic energy, some of the most popular position include "The Day the Sea Splits", "Yu-Shan's Hearth Pillar Spin into Minuteness" and "Bounty Mother punish the Insolent Child"
                              • Attire: It's the golden code that every witch must reveal to the world their body, so that they can lure and consume the enemy of Creation that lust after her most beautiful shape. This involve expose armpit, boobs window, short shorts or practicing more exotic cloth such as "Buddha's Navel Gaze the Naked World" or "Venus's Charming Thong"

Or, you know, the entire subject being fought over, again, is because you guys have, again, taken something that is a minor spoiler or piece of a greater thing, in this case the Exalted cover, and gone totally apeshit, again.

Seriously, we quite literally have ZERO CONTEXT to put this art piece into, and there's an entire thread threatening to erupt in some sort of twisted moral outrage.

Sure, there's no way to canonically do it, but Exalted allows you to knee canon in the crotch and rifle through its pockets to take what you need while it whimpers on the ground. - mockery
