    Hehe!

    Dawn = Flare
    Zenith = Halo
    Twilight = Aurora
    Night = Nova
    Eclipse = Penumbra

    (Just fun speculation, using other people's ideas and my own)

      *cough* Neall's original tweet points to the Penumbras being the Eclipse-equivalents.

        Ah lol!

        Just change the orders then!

        Maybe nova/supernova fits better Night anyways, being the death of a star and all (I think, lol, not an astronomer and lazy to actually search if that is correct)

          Penumbra Castes are the weird outliers. Everyone else relates to the spherical positioning system.

          Despite my policy of, "Neall will say whatever at cons with no filter," nobody asked about Getimian or Infernal castes, so I had to make do.

            ... hmmm... So we've got both night and day of various phases with both Solar and Abyssal castes, we know that the eclipse equivalent is the penumbra. I doubt that the GSP are gonna get moon-themed castes... maybe we'll get Ligier's phases. I'm intrigued.

              I like this idea a lot that infernals are going to be the twisted mockeries of the heroic Solar castes. I think there's definitely room enough there for them and still have abyssals being the dark deathly versions. I'm excited to see how this comes out!

                So Solars are (sort of) heroes who followed the Vision of Gold and became heroic kings, Abyssals are Solars who destroyed Creation in their tragic hubris, and Infernals are Solars who ruled the world as increasingly depraved god-tyrants? That's how I've been imagining the conceptual broad strokes of it ever since we got the first Infernals during the KS.

                  Spherical positioning are things like Equator, Pole, Axis, Core, or Meridian come to mind. Though I'm guessing that it's a bit less obvious then those, Axis Castes seems pretty cool tome.

                  And I didn't htink to ask because I was busy talkin' on Artifacts and things. Didn't assume any of this was even bein' worked on.

                    Hmmmm...

                    So, say... Conjunction, Ecliptic, Quadrature and Superior?

                    Although I feel as though Apogee or Apsis should be in there somewhere.

                      All three seem to be god-Kings of old returned, they just seem inclined to establish different kinds of new orders with different priorities in mind. The Abyssal Exalted aren't called Bringers of Ruin, after all. They're Death's Lawgivers.

                        While the theme of the Infernals reflecting the decadent god-kings of the First Age still rings true, it's not the entirety of what they are.

                          Probably wisest not to assume stuff from the KS previews will hold true. Current devs seem dedicated to putting out quality work, and that's going to require implementing a particular vision they're passionate about, not just following old blueprints left behind by predecessors. Same as what we did when we came aboard, same as what Geoff did when he took over from Ken Cliffe all the way back during proto-1e.

                            Co-lattitude just doesn't seem to strike me as a likely splat name... Azimuth, though, would fit in with a heavy dose of irony given the name of the Wyld Hunt's principal HQ on the Blessed Isle...
