    I apologize for nothing.

The 1337 Sniper (Artifact 3 Behemoth Heartpiercer)

The Solar Exalted known as xX_t3hch0$3n0n3_Xx didn’t ask to become an Exalted, exalting as an Eclipse when he became far more vocal in advocating the Wavecrestian government for change and that their people shouldn’t bow their heads to Meruivan or Tengese pressure. The young college student was fully caught off guard and drawn into a world he never knew existed. The layers of conspiracies going deeper than he ever thought possible. In fear and confusion he attempted to retreat from the world once more, only to gather attention from the God of Major League Gaming, Shillings. Shillings knew that the young man was capable of great things and loathed to see the young boy’s talent squandered. He challenged t3hch0$3n0n3 to a game where the stakes were high on both sides: If Shillings won t3hch0$3n0n3 would meet up with a group of people Shillings knew about so they they could live up to his potential. If he lost then Shillings would provide him a weapon worthy of a 1337 champion such as him. The pulse pounding series of matches stretched across several games of various genres, from the iconic game series of Sphere to the final grand battle in the Time of Tumult MMORPG where both t3hch0$3n0n3 and Shillings clans duked it out in a grand scale battle which people claimed would never be topped ever again. The result between them both was a tie, but in the end Shillings had imparted his lesson into the young Exalt, to show that he was ready to lead people into a brighter future and had the skill to do so. t3hch0$3n0n3 admitted he still had much to learn, and Shillings said that it was only proper to give those he sponsored proper equipment for their new roles.

Shillings made extensive use of his shadow contacts to custom make a new rifle for his champion, giving the blueprints to the baffled (and somewhat horrified) weapon manufacturers to make sure the weapon was built in absolute secret. The Orichalcum plated rifle designed and skinned in a way to impress all those who gaze upon the weapon, the various corporate logos and sponsorships emblazoned on the side revealing that the wielder of the rifle is one of great skill in which investments would be wise. Shillings himself designed the scope of the rifle, a Heartseeker lens made of the finest Adamant and Starmetal lens which would seek out the head of whomever is less skilled than the user themselves and give the chance for all who would visit the wielders stream witness the p33rl3$$ skill of the wielder themselves and give bits to cheer them on.

For example, the first shot costs 5m, the second cost 3m, the third costs 1m, and any shot on the fourth or later costs 0m.

As the bodies of his victims climbs, the gamer is propelled to ever greater heights. This charm upgrades its prerequisite. Each time the gamer incapacitates a significant opponent gains a stack of 1337 up to a maximum of (Essence). For each stack of 1337 the gamer has they’re treated as if having rolled an additional 10 on Explosive Cranium Liberation Shot for damage purposes. This doesn’t grant them additional successes on the attack roll, but does count for damage purposes. For example if the gamer’s attack roll has only a single 10 but they have two stacks of 1337, then they’d add 3 dice post soak on a withering attack roll or 3 dice on a decisive attack.

Dissonant: n00bs can only gain (ESS/2) stacks of 1337.

Special Activation Rules: This charm automatically unlocks whenever the gamer incapacitates at least two or more significant opponents in a single turn.

    CHEAPASS SPAWNCAMPER TACTICS
Cost: 3m; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Reflexive
    Keywords: Dissonant, Uniform
    Duration: Instant
    Prerequisite charms: Killcount Racking Confidence

In order to be on top sometimes one needs to use tactics that others find cheap and dishonorable. The gamer will tell them a simple parable of advice in return: “git gud”. Whenever a character the gamer is aware of rolls join battle, they may immediately activate this charm to make a reflexive attack against the target, be it withering or decisive at their leisure. For each time this charm is used until the gamer’s next action, the cost of the charm is reduced by 1m to a minimum of 0m. Explosive Cranium Liberation Shot also has its cost reduced for each attack made with this charm as if using a multiattack.

Dissonant: n00bs may only use this charm on those with lower initiative, they do not benefit from any cost reduction, and contains a 1WP surcharge on the charm.

Special Activation Rules: This charm automatically unlocks whenever the gamer incapacitates a character who joins a currently active battle but hasn’t acted as of yet.

    AIRHORN ACHIEVEMENT FARE
Cost: 5m 1WP; Mins: Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
    Keywords: Psyche, Resonant
    Duration: Instant
Prerequisite charms: Top Leaderboard Seeking Methodology

With a single shot of skill and prowess, those who seek the gamer fell his target have the scene replayed in their minds in slow motion while horns from the heavens wail to announce his victory over the opponent. This charm may be activated after incapacitating a significant opponent, allowing the gamer to roll (Charisma + Trashtalking Performance + Essence) in a special instill action. If successful everyone immediately knows who made the shot and have a minor intimacy of awe towards the gamer depending on the allegiance towards the gamer: opponents have an intimacy of terrified awe while allies have one of amazement or being impressed. Alternatively the gamer may spare his opponent and elect to make the shot non-lethal, automatically giving the opponent a major intimacy of shame in their defeat towards the gamer himself.

Resonant: In addition to applying an intimacy of terrified awe in opponents, anyone who had a major or higher intimacy towards the target the gamer incapacitated immediately form an intimacy of deep shame towards the target. Such an intimacy can only vanish when the afflicted target can do some sort of major action to re-instill faith in his men, but until then applies a -2 penalty on all rolls involving them.

Special Activation Rules: This charm automatically unlocks whenever the gamer incapacitates who has either formally challenged him or has insulted him in front of one or more onlookers.

    FLIGHT OF MEMETIC WORDS
Cost: -; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Permanent
    Keywords: Dissonant, Psyche
    Duration: Instant
    Prerequisite charms: Airhorn Achievement Fare

The skill of the gamer is so potent that people far and wide flock to see his peerless skills in action. This charm is a permanent upgrade to the character, allowing those who discuss tales of the gamer’s exploits. Whenever a character who is part of the gamer’s cult or has an intimacy relating to them (positive or negative if applied with Airhorn Achievement Fare) has that character automatically make an instill action against any target they’re talking with using a dicepool of the speakers highest social pool plus the Gamer’s (Essence or Cult/Influence, whichever is lower) bonus dice. Those who fail to resist are granted a minor intimacy towards the gamer with the same context as the speaker themselves (Those with terrified awe will attempt to instill an intimacy of terrified awe, while those who have one of starry eyed awe will attempt to instill the same in kind). This social action is non-voluntary for those affected, when talking about the gamer’s exploits they must use this charm.

Narratively speaking this charm allows tales of the gamer’s skill and reputation to rapidly spread across a direction or specific circles.

Dissonant: The tales of n00bs are harder to believe. Only those who have seen the n00bs skills in action can attest to their skills, meaning only those affected by Airhorn Achievement Fare can spread the intimacy, rather than anyone with the intimacy

Special Activation Rules: This charm automatically unlocks whenever onlookers see the gamer incapacitate someone whom the vast majority of people present in the scene have at least a major or higher intimacy towards.

    GG:RE
    Cost:10m 1WP; Mins: Essence 5; Type: Reflexive
    Keywords: Dissonant
    Duration: Instant
Prerequisite charms: Killcount Racking Confident, Flight of Memetic Words

In video games when you are bested by a worthy opponent there is no death involved in such things, rather one can simply start a new game all over again with only the lessons and insults of the past match remaining. This charm may be activated whenever the user is incapacitated by an opponent, his body ragdolling to the ground, blown into gibs, or whatever other manner of death. By paying the cost of this charm the user’s body or remains (including his belongings) vanish the instant no one is paying attention to them. At the end of the current scene the user immediately respawns back at the location they woke up at in the beginning of the day or in the nearest safe location if such a place is no longer safe (such as the enemy having taken it over). If the wielder hasn’t slept in a day, then it will be at the place he was at during sunrise or at 6AM in sunless areas.

The gamer is then driven by a motivation in order to best his opponent next time in battle, immediately forming a defining intimacy of “I must seek revenge/best [Opponent]” which does not abate until the gamer themselves can fulfill this intimacy, in which case it vanishes. So long as this intimacy exists this charm cannot be used again. Additionally once used, the user may only reset this charm by accomplishing a major social goal or feat, such as winning a world championship tournament such as EVO.

Dissonant: No one has a good game with a n00b, thus they may not learn this charm.

Resonant: The gamer may activate this charm with whatever amount of motes they have left in their motepool(s) in lieu of the 10m.

Sometime before next Monday, I hope to find the time and energy to proofread this thing for you.

But right now, the final Evocation could use a tweak.

I think it should only allow a respawn if the “game” was, in fact, good. The gamer should need to prove his skill by racking up kills, accomplishing feats of prowess, and successfully influencing his allies, opponents, or audience.

Let their immortalizing fears, awe, and prayers be the conduit by which he escapes death.

I also notice I forgot to put a reflexive learning condition on the charm normally, alas.

I thought about such things, like putting more limitations on the respawn power. This is coming back from death in a sense, and when compared to something like Volcano Cutter's "All of Creation Turns to Ash" when its art 5, I think I'm really stretching the limits of what it means to be an art 3. I was also tempted to place a con on the wielder, like if the opponent activated the resonant version of Airhorn blast on you.

But in the end I wanted to make the process of activating the power just pretty straightforward rather than needing to jump through a lot of hoops. I mean you need to do that for every other power the artifact has.
