  • Describe your character in a few sentences

Bonus Question: What is the one sentence backstory of your character?

  • #2
Golden Hero: The darkest night requires the brightest heroes! In his mighy golden warstrider Godspeed Vanguard, the heroic northern Shining One known as Golden Hero, once just a humble slave-smith, has sworn to defeat the Realm that brutally murdered his fiancée! He fights for justice, truth, and the New Day!
(Warning: Night Castes may be significantly less heroic than they first appear)
Skills: Crafting, Athletics, stabbing demons, stealth

Brother Alazar: When the new Abbott of the Black Monastery of Leng decided to open the forbidden vaults of that pre-human structure, Brother Alazar objected, but couldn't stop him. Deep in the bowels of the cthonic corridors, the monks accidentally released the Nephwrack known as He Who Shall Not Be Described. Most of the monks immediately went insane, but Alazar resisted and exalted as a Night Caste. He escaped, and went off to learn kung-fu (from another PC, that's why he joined the group) so he could defeat the Nephwrack and get revenge. He's been investigating/battling the Nephwrack's cult with the other PCs, but the Nephwrack is always one step ahead.
Skills: Occult, Investigation, alchemy, Tiger style.

Is no-one else going to post? I'm interested to see what people are playing.

I'm game. Give me a tick to get it together!

Exalted PCs only, or also interesting character ideas that might become seeds in an Exalted scope?

Monsoon Dancer: A god-queen in formation, this rowdy sailor is a creature of excesses and a paragon of bursting vitality, infatuated with life itself. As she strives to live up to her devotion to her pirate company, she charms, taunts, brawls and murders her way into showing the world their lives are only worth what they make of it, and it is their birthright to make the most of it. Don't touch her subjects.

Family tried to rein her wildness with immaculate training, but the immaculates couldn't stand her either.

Kit, the Ethereal Carmine Princess of Eventide - Night Caste - She is a hyperactive teenage ninja, like a cross between A-ko (Athletics Supernal) and Senran Kagura.

She has no idea why she was Chosen, to begin with, and initially plays as a bubbly foil to the dead serious plot expositions of the rest of the Circle. Sometime mid-Chronicle she'll get a plot point and have a Let's Get Dangerous moment. We'll find out that the Ethereal Princesses of Eventide were a divergent sect of Solar assassins (and their Lunar counterparts) who eschewed traditional power structures in favor of operating in the shadows and half-truths of the First Age. Many rogue gods and Chosen fell to their swords and fangs -- the Exaltation of the Ethereal Princesses chooses those who can maintain a fundamental optimism even in the face of corruption and otherworldly horrors. (longer than one sentence but there ya go)

Alhambra, the Vigilant Tower - Dawn Caste - This giant of a warmaster leads his cavalry from the front. Riding on Jasomir, his dire badger mount, he gallops into battle wielding Tangled Helix, the seven-plaited braided-glass Direlance; and protected by the Thousand Storms Mantle, a heavy artifact armor. His Anima effect is the quaking and cracking of the ground. His armor resembles that of Ozen the Immovable. He is called the Vigilant Tower because his only fear is that his allies be harmed because something gets past him. His defining Principle is "Like deserves like" so the wise lord will be kind and generous in his looming presence.

Kalifiir Sabra, The Stubborn Tiger - Eclipse Caste - Kalifiir is a slightly-built and bookish young man with the characteristic pale skin and bluish hair of some people from the North. Though all Exalted age gracefully, he looks younger than he actually is. Disappointed with his failure to Exalt as Chosen of Air like his close siblings, his family sent him on an expedition into the Bordermarches, in an attempt to provoke a Second Breath in the otherwise bookish scion ... or to remove a disappointment from the family line. Kalifiir did Exalt, but not into the Air Caste: the expedition was captured by a Raksha raiding party, and while in their clutches, Kalifiir was Chosen to become one of the Eclipse Caste instead.

He didn't come away unharmed - the Raksha had slain many of his family, and in fact had just plucked out his right eye (in front of his surviving, bound siblings) when the Exaltation reached him. In the confusion, he stole away with one of the Raksha's Artifacts - the Unblinking Inward Mirror. This is a crystal ball of sorts that could be worn as gaudy jewelry - or as a false eye. Kalifiir uses it as his Sorcerous Initiation artifact.

Since that time, he has become a skillful negotiator and passable sorcerer. When negotiations fail, he dons a change of outfit and a mask, transforms himself with Wood Dragon's Claws and Invulnerable Skin of Bronze, and stalks the unholy and the criminal as the Stubborn Tiger.

The Marked Wolf tells stories about campfires lit deep in the Threshold keeping lesser Wyld things at bay to pups found and retrieved, to veterans who mouth the words with her, to ghosts who failed to learn their lessons, their numbers uncounted. A survivor of the Balorian Crusade, she uses her No Moon talents to recruit Lunars to fill the ranks of the Swords of Luna. Ranks whose numbers are always in need of replenishing from their constant warring with Raksha, Unshaped, and beings stranger yet in the unsung war at the edge of the world. A sorcerer and necromancer of the lowest order, she tattoos young Lunars through skill instead of deep mystical understanding. All of the Silver Pact know a pup raised by The Marked Wolf, and her version of the Oral History is held in high esteem among retellings.

                  Storytellers make characters, too...

I wrote up a few more in a fan project called the Lunar Castebooks. If you enjoy reading characters and their backstories, the 1e Castebooks and Aspect books are probably your jam.

I have to respect a Dawn who rides a badger. That's true class.

The Knight Raiton is an Eclipse Caste Solar from Nexus. After a personal tragedy early in his life, the Knight Raiton has devoted himself to improving Nexus, both via civil works projects that raise up the poor (accomplished by his rich socialite persona), and via donning a terrifying black archaeopteryx mask and beating up ne'er-do-wells.

Captain Ahab, expect he's a Water Aspect. And is missing an arm instead of a leg. And instead of a peg or stump, he has a badass jade prosthetic. And he hunts humongous sea monsters, not for revenge, but for fun and profit. And because he is the inheritor of an ancient legacy of similarly one-armed Dragon-bloods that fight to make the seas safe from the beasts of the deep. Nobility and purity of intentions may vary.

Erichthonius, Owl-totem No Moon wise man. He's your archetypal dad figure, always kind and nurturing, always with words of advice gained from his frequent spiritual quests. He likes to play manipulator every once in a while, inserting tidbits of information via infiltration or via his dream-control abilities to push important people in the direction he believes will best serve his charges.

Seeker of Perfect Harmonies - Twilight Lore Supernal who exalted by using Linguistics, Craft, & Performance to create his first symphony in Old realm that he learned from demons he'd learned to summon. He's awfully happy-go-lucky, with an unexplained obsession with the color blue and far to excellent at making and performing music. Now he has followers and a small cult of people he saved from a cruise-gone-wrong following him around, and he's never been more happy.

                            Bonus Question:

Got tired of Immaculate parents so he: left home, learned broken old realm, learned to summon demons, abandoned a vacation get-a-way, and accidentally started a cult that he still doesn't know revolves around him; and he's never been happier.

Needles: Small aged Djala who's a little creepy, but the purity of his desire to help *everyone everywhere* outweighs the needles in his fingers by a lot.
