and now. in honor of Shark Week, let's talk about Siakas:

notice, an accurate reconstruction isnot as pointy as a great white, more snubnosed. The dorsal fin may not have been as large either, though that is still up for debate

yup. instead of the armor and toothplates on the outside, it had skin and lips on it like a real animal
The first of those is accompanying some random guy on the Internet making an argument saying that the Dunkleosteus probably had lips, and the other is a Deviantart picture in which the artist days that they decided to give it lips.

Do you have a reference from an actual paleontologist asserting that it may have?

I have approximate knowledge of many things.

Did some digging and couldn't find anything definitive in the literature but not on campus to read some of them so can't be sure.

There is talk that the sheers part of its mouth might still have been exposed, much like a parrot fish. (You can look those up on Google Images, they can be rather pretty.)

One comrpomise reconstruction I saw was this, where most of the animal is covered in skin save the sheers, which are exposed:

Something went wrong with that then, because the text of HDNP does say they have feathers (though the art doesn't seem to have them).

Imagine the utter havoc that kea parrots could wreak if they were a meter tall. Vans left unattended would be disassembled at lightning speed.

They use an image of one in that article don't they? Instead of perching on sheep's backs to take bites out, they prey on large herbivorous animals like cattle, elephants, and yeddim!
