  • [Forum Game] What would your character do?

This is just a little thread dedicated to developing characters, having good laughs, and coming up with devious situations
The idea is simple. Someone posts a situation, and the next poster posts how his character (pick one) would react to it. Then, that person posts a situation of his own.

Let's start with the first situation:
A good friend - best friend, even - of your character suddenly murdered somebody - who is unknown to your character - in a fit of berserker rage. He claims that he has a good reasons, that he can't explain right now, and asks for your help in disposal of the body. Nobody but you has witnessed it.

    Well, that escalated quickly.

Answer : Nary the Dream-Souled farmer would feed the corpse to his sentient turnips and then banish his now ex best friend from his domain.

Situation : The priceless necklace which will be offered to the winner of a beauty contest is actually a rare artifact you desperately want

Answer: Isaoa Atima drugs the competition and incompletely tattoos their faces and bodies in their sleep. She then shows up, maybe having actually brushed out her hair this morning, and wins practically by default. She might complete her work afterwards just because she can't leave things half finished.

Situation: your friend has bargained with a demon, a deathlord, and a raksha Noble, convincing each that they have a claim to their soul. Unfortunately, pitting them against each other has failed miserably and they're prepared to spiritually draw and quarter your buddy into negotiated portions on the next new moon.

Answer: Knight Raiton carefully checks to see if there's any Eclipse oaths or other magical punishments for the friend if they fail to uphold their end of the bargain; if not, he sends him away on the swiftest horse money can buy, and individually convinces each of the entities to just accept the loss. "I mean, it's just one person."

‚ÄčSituation: A magical disease is spreading across the city, and a healer who might have a cure exists in a distant city. Unfortunately, the reason he's there is because this city banished him a couple of generations ago, on the unfounded fear that he was spreading the disease.

Answer : Yousef founds a cult in the ailing city, a cult which worships the disease as a holy gift from the gods. He then fetches the healer with a promise that the city will now show him due respect. When the healer arrives, he is hailed as the holy messiah of the cult of sickness and welcomed with open arms. In the end, the disease is cured and the healer remains as the high priest of a religion that worships him in hopes he will one day bring back the disease.

Situation : You find out a Circle mate has been communicating with the Wyld Hunt in secret and is planning to have you all caught by them in return for a promise for the Wyld Hunt to spare said Circle mate's home town. Your Circle mate doesn't know you know yet.

Answer: Althea would shapeshift into her circlemate and negotiate with the Wyld Hunt to plan an ambush for the Circle, then use her knowledge of their plans to plan a counter-ambush and wipe out the Wyld Hunt, then sorcery on over to the circlemate's hometown to aid in a defense plan that she'd already planned in advance knowing this too would happen.

Then turn her circlemate into a newt and leave them like that for a week so they learn their lesson.

Situation: some big-shot deity has fallen in love at first sight with you and refuses to take no for an answer. They have the power, both political and personal, to make things very nasty for you if you spurn them. Alternatively, they could make for a great sugardaddy/sugarmamma (sugarparent?).

Are you in the market for some Martial Arts? Perhaps some custom Artifacts for your campaign?

Answer: Shadow of Kings the Lunar was made as a clone by Shadow of Kings the Solar... but they do not get on.

So the Lunar Shadow of Kings would lure this god to the Solar, then turn into someone else and flee, leaving his creator to deal with the fallout.

Situation: You and your circle are defending a village full of refugees. There are 3 Realm Legions on their way to attack you. What do you do?

I run... Lunars: The Apocalypse! Exalted 3rd edition. Fimbulwinter is upon the world as an Ice Age begins, and only six young Lunar heroes have a chance of saving humanity.

Answer: Backed by a week of intense research, Epitome outargues the Universe, forcing the Universe to concede that yeah, a star is indeed supposed to fall from the sky and crash exactly where the 3 Realm Legions are standing. So naturally it happens. Never back a Lore Supernal into a corner.

Situation: An Abyssal falls in love with you at first sight and declares their undying love for you. After a little discussion it appears they are willing to fight alongside you, but are not willing to stop their death Cult, ritual sacrifices or murdering sprees. What do you do?

Answer: Let them keep going... actually, ask to join in! Izem, the Lion of the South (Full Moon) is nothing if not pragmatic, and with a little Lunar infiltration and social engineering, we can have this death cult murdering important Realm officials in no time! That whole Abyssal thing is a bit creepy, but I'm sure it'll work out.

Situation: You are friends with a local monarch or other notable nobility. A neighboring nation is holding an important coronation and to the shock of your friend, he/she hasn't been invited. They ask you to think up a suitably nasty rebuttal for this heinous insult.
