  • IRL Exaltation, as determined by random dice rolls

    So during a patch of insomnia I started listing out what would happen if Exalts suddenly appeared in the real world as it stands. For lack of a better method, I divided them out according to current population by country, as listed on this site. Took a little while and a lot of abuse of a dicebot, but for what it's worth here's what I came up with. If you're wondering why you should care, you absolutely shouldn't, but it's a lot of text, so I figured I'd post it in lieu of having anything interesting to share.

    Rules for countries with 0.5% of world population or more (Category A)
    Method of determining numbers
    Solars/Lunars (600 total): 6*population percentage, round outcome down. Split evenly between Solars and Lunars, where the number was odd the extra one is decided by d2 roll (1 Solar, 2 Lunar).

    Solars: 1d27 for Supernal (alphabetically, 13 is Martial Arts, also 27 is Evocations which was available to any caste). Then 1d6 for type (1-3 Solar, 4-5 Abyssal, 6 Infernal), 1d2 if multiple castes get ability as a Supernal choice, higher or lower of the two in traditional order (Dawn, Zenith, Twilight, Night, Eclipse). Abyssals and Infernals had the same ability options as Solars; just because I didn't have an alternative.

    Lunars: 1d4 for caste (1 Full, 2 Changing, 2 No, 4 Casteless). Then 1d3 pick the first of their caste attributes (eg 2 = Dexterity), 1d2 to pick from the remaining two for the other (eg 1 = Strength, 2 = Stamina). Not done for Casteless.

    Method of determining numbers
    Sidereals (100 total): 1*population percentage, round outcome down. Countries with less than 1% population but at least 0.5% got a d2 roll (1 they get a Siddie, 2 they don't).

    Sidereals: 1d25 to choose an ability, caste determined by which one had that ability in 2e lists.

    Dragonbloods (10,000 total): 100*Population Percentage
    DBs: 1d5 for aspect using traditional order (Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Wood). Weirdly, Water was almost always overrepresented.


    Rules for countries with less than 0.5% of world population or less (Category B)
    198 countries left with less than 0.5% population. 141 with more than 0.0% population percentage.

    Solars/Lunars/Sidereals: 155 remaining Celestial exalts lotteried off by dicebot. Any country could have up to 1 Solar, 1 Lunar and 1 Sidereal. Repeats of any given type were re-rolled.
    Solaroid ratios adhered to. Once a country was determined to get a Solar I rolled them in a dicebot. First 8 got the remaining 8 Infernals, who were then decided as above. Same for the remaining Abyssals. All those left were Solars.

    Giving proportional numbers of DBs to each country with more than 0.0% resulted in 9,997 DBs being issued. Last three were issued amongst the 0.0% countries by lottery (Turks & Caicos/Seychelles/Saint Martin).


    Notes
    • Celestial Exalts all appear within a week of E-Day at Essence 1, 0 XP. Celestial exaltation is totally at random according to the priorities of their Incarnae patron.
    • Dragonbloods Exalt at E2 if aged up to 40, E3 if aged 41-80 and E4 if aged 81+. DB exaltation is most often along family lines in countries with lots of DBs.
    • Countries with no Exalts at all get a single Exigent. Just because.
    • My tallies at the end SEEM to match up except that I have 301 Solars. No idea how that happened since I have 300 listed Supernal abilities. I'm not above admitting there are probably other maths errors along the way.
    • I make no judgement on what does or does not count as a country IRL, all names are taken from the website linked above. Categories A & B are based on population size only.
    • Good sleep hygiene is important, if you ignore it you might end up doing mad shit like this.

          Seriously. I don’t think anyone cares about the exact numbers for every caste but the general idea of Exalted in today’s world is really cool.

            Sorry. Just realized that may come off as derogatory. What I meant was the exact numbers per country don’t matter as much as getting the general themes down.

              The distribution in the category B countries could make for some interesting dynamics.

              Like Kazakhstan having that lone Daybreak Investigator, are they working with or against those Dragon-Blooded? Either way that's an interesting seed to me.

                    The Dragon-Blooded are potentially a family group as per the original premise.
