  • Trying to remember what ways you can clash besides a charm that specifically allows you to clash and both having the same initiative. Can higher initiative folks stall their turn to clash someone? Or do you have to naturally have the same initiative number?

Yes, at the cost of 2 Initiative.

      • Thanks. I think we only clashed once so far if even that.

          • For Martial Arts, do smash fists count as unarmed?
I get Tiger and Snake maybe not working, but White Reaper seems smashfist comaptible.

I did a lot of homebrew over here. PEACH.

I really hope my ST is just being overly pedantic...

Having a gauntlet made of god-metal is definitely not unarmed.

From The Ask Dev thread by Vance, post number is 1042.

To expand on this, it's not that there isn't sensical reasoning for applying artifact PAWNCH to martial arts, it's that MAs and artifacts were balanced separately. Artifact Weapon + 1 MA is balanced. Bare hands + 'All empty handed MAs' is balanced. (Yes, really.)

'All the Martial Arts' plus 'artifact weapon stats' exceeds the balance parameters.

                • Exactly correct Valles. Also in the Dev Q&A thread they remark how fists Of heaven and earth should allow brawl charms for unarmed attacks to work with it as a smash fist for example.

                  • Do Stunt bonuses apply to a sub-rolls in gambits?
Example from Grapple: Initial roll to hit (yes), initiative roll confirm gambit (no?), strength roll to ascertain control rounds (yes?)
                    Does that look right?

                    • The other boons attached to a sorcerous* initiation are those things a sorcerer gets by just having that initiation, or are they extra merits the initiation counts as the prereq for?

*Like the Child of Madness merit attached to Scarred by Nightmares

Either or? I've used them for Godblooded merits as well.

The merits you can purchase after you have been initiated into sorcery in that matter. So your second option.

I post Artifacts in this thread. How I make them is in this thread.
I have made many tools and other things for 3rd Edition. I now host all of my creations on my Google site: The Vault of the Unsung Hero

                          • What do you do if you have, for instance, Background dots left over in 2e?

I'm building a Night-caste Wyld barbarian... but I've got three dots left over for her Backgrounds. She has Resources 1 (her tribe was poor and she doesn't really understand money), Influence 1 (which is useless because she's far from home), and Artifact 2 (a pair of razor claws that she nicked from the Bull of the North). That's four out of seven, and I can't really think of anything else that would work with her character concept (she's got the Serpent's Body abomination, she loves to climb, and her Motivation is to scale the Imperial Mountain. No, she hasn't even left the Threshold yet).

                            EDITION!

So I found this post. Because demons are a little more complicated than fire and brimstone in Exalted, I'm actually now wonder what kind of beings the various different demons would fall in love with. Any ideas? The things that came to mind for me were neomah (duh), erymanthoi, angyalkae, the Player of Games, and Ligier himself.

And finally: is there a comprehensive list of which demons are subsidiaries of which? Nothing in the Malfeas Compass, the Roll of Glorious Divinity, or the 2e core says which demon Octavian is part of, but apparently TV Tropes says his progenitor is the Ravine of Whispers? There's also nothing that states the progenitor demons of neomah and erymanthoi.

Few options spring immediately to mind. First just don't use them. They go away and you don't get them back, but if you can't find anything to use them on that doesn't hurt the character in your mind then there's no problem letting them go.

Option the second, ask your ST if there's anything they can recommend to take. Maybe the ST knows of a merit or something that you're overlooking, or might have one that can be modified by flavor to help out, or even just something that would really benefit the party to have.

The final option is to buy a thing you don't immediately have. You know set up a thing with your ST, so that they know that while say you have a mentor on it you'd like to roleplay out getting the mentor later. That way they can slot it into the early adventure in a way that'll be organic for your character's advancement.

Not exactly some demons have had a progenitor listed in different editions and a few have never really had their progenitor listed. Like Blood Apes were listed in all 3 cores and they're always just called "Demon of the first circle" though I've heard speculation on them originating from Octavian or Sondok. GoD in 1st ed says Neomah are the progeny of the weaver of voices ie Berengiere. In a lot of cases it doesn't matter too much if you can't find who a demon descends from then don't worry about it there are a lot of blank spots in Creation's knowledge of demons and you can always just pick one that a demon fits the theme of to say they go for in that game.
