Well, seeing as how the Booty among civilized people makes them lick their chops for a very different reason than most people of the South, it's kind of understandable.

If I had to guess, it's fanon, brought on by a combo of the sig picture and the note in Sulumor's write up that states that her beauty came from her Agata Coadjutor. Given that the Dune People are the (otherwise unaltered) descendents of the slaves who were concubines for visiting Exalts, it really doesn't make sense for them to be ugly, with a capital W...
Exalted: the Lunars also notes that they're quite fit, trim and muscular from their, ah, high-protein diet. Maybe the people of the South don't like athletic women?

This seemed appropriate, although maybe a bit NSFW...

Seconded about the Perfect's awful outfit, btw...I'd like to see him as something of a fantasy Pharoah, as I see Paragon taking a few tips from Egypt.

Sulumor already fill her "Hairy and Burly Boyfriend" quota with Strength-of-Many and Ceaar, adding Demetheus is just overblow.

The only time that we could see the him going shirtless, but the guy just have to go and give us a mere backshot instead, curse you teasing artist !

I do not mind Sulumor as Infernal Lady Gaga.

(just to clarify, not my edit to the comic)

Saloy Hin recently showed up in our Infernals game as a potential business partner and the description given to him was so absurd it was kind of awesome.

You are greeted by the sight of Saloy Hin, or more accurately his reflection as the Fire Aspect stands before a full length mirror. He stands well over six feet tall, well-muscled with short red hair and a strong jaw that matches his physique. His armour accentuates his immaculate form consisting of what can scarcely be described as a breastplate with matching boots and bracers. The essence produced by the three shimmers slightly as though it were a silken cloak connecting the five artefacts together.

Ok, I just re-read the segment. If it's the bit about them being "Unattractive by southern standards" I just took that to mean because they were pale as fuck and everyone in the south was being a bit racist.

    BEEEEEEEEEACH!

But if it is about the nudity, I have no idea. It's probably in Scroll of Heroes if it's anywhere.
It was the ugly thing. Where is that? I can't find it.

That was his picture from back in 1st edition Bastions of the North.

Honestly I didn't pay as much attention to 2nd edition artwork as 1st edition, because I didn't think it was as good.

Generally though I find that the artwork of characters in Exalted runs the gamut. Some character might look great in one picture, and then look terrible, and then look okay, and then you have to squint and cross your eyes to even recognize them in the next piece.

I think that for the most part, the character's clothing designs are okay (Nun-whore and Infernal Pirate Captain's wooden clogs not withstanding) - the issues tend to crop up from the way various artists interpret them.

Taking a look at the 2nd edition Bull of the North, I see what you mean Tobi. Or Wulf. Or whomever you are now ^_^

The Bull is unlucky enough to have a combo of bad clothing, bad hairstyle and bad-beard in the Corebook. But if that is his new design for Third Edition then, mmmmmmhhh delicious hunky old man.

And I have no idea why I find the Bull's exposed belly so hideous and yet want to bury my face into Saloy Hin rock-hard abs.....
