  • [Ex3] I made a 1 page combat flowchart

I wanted a sheet for combat that had all the actions on one page. And also was trying to decipher how movement worked, so felt that making a flowchart would help me wrap my brain around everything all at once. I feel much more confident now! Took me about 7 and a half hours to finish this up and I'm sure there's places it can be cleaned up. If anybody has any suggestions, notices any typos or rules mistakes, please let me know! I'll be happy to update the master. I'm still pretty new to the community part of all this, so uh, hi!

The link attached to this is a dropbox link, I'll edit it over time if I make any changes. Feel free to distribute link or file, don't really need any credit. Just wanted to make something helpful!

Kinda intimidating, but totally rad. Thanks!

I'd suggest adding your preferred name/pseudonym to the title area. If you spent a decent amount of time on it, its deserved

Pretty good overall. Right offhand though; you've got Aim giving +3 to melee attacks, when it actually gives +3 attack to all attacks. Ranged attacks only have to take Aim twice if they're beyond Medium range.

For example, an archer at Short range only has to take Aim one time to get the +3 bonus to attack.

Thanks for the feedback! I messed that part up early on and corrected half of it, but forgot the other half. Oops >.> Well, either way! All fixed now!

And thank you all for the praise! Always good to know that a thing is working out well!

I also tried changing up the bottom of it around where decisive attacks and hardness checks are, to clarify that hardness happens before the roll. But I'm not sure if it's too messy. Anyone got any thoughts on how to improve that part with the limited space?

If I can make a suggestion: I like the flowchart form, but after showing it to some of the players in my group, the ones who would benefit from it most are the ones most daunted by the wall of text. It might improve readability by changing the colour scheme to break different sections (like movement, or withering attack resolution) into different colours to help the eye structure it a little.

Alright, tried that out. I'm not as confident at color choices. But I definitely /definitely/ want to help newer players be able to follow it. Do you think the new changes help any? I saved the older version separate in case it doesn't work out. Check the dropbox link again to see the new color choices.

                  Man, that's enormous. Well done!

Should include the Initiative Break bonus you get from crashing someone (and counter-crashing them), though, while you're making a summary.

Jeeze, I am a sucker for punishment. That was a hard amount of text to include. I had to shift so much stuff around. On the bright side, I think I might have made a couple sections make more sense. Give it a look! Thanks for the challenge!

Heh, I thought Crash/Counter-crash wouldn't take as much text as that, but the rules are more complicated than they first appear (especially for counter-crash). It looks good to me!
