Bit apprehesive about the hamfisted political pandering (is Variety such a site?) since I like my satire... subversive. I've also got my 'why now?" feeling because y'know, Vampire is in it's 4e DnD phase. But otherwise, it sounds good. Of the shows I recognized, i liked or heard good things about. That said, There were a lot of shows listed i've never heard of.

I saw an add for Shadow and Bone on Netflix so I'll check it out and see if he can run a show. I hope they have a range of power levels in the series. Any idea what platform it will land on?

My best hope would be HBO proper to really go for it with an authentic feel, I'd have less hope for Netflix, though Emily in Paris was really good and they continued Cobra Kai and the Last Kingdome well when they picked them up. Hulu I doubt I'd watch it. Network TV would just be waisted potential, maybe the station that did Justified would pull off something but I would have really low expectations.

Acting usually comes down to casting unless the whole cast is bad, then I blame the director. I don't think a vampire show needs a terribly large budget. The writing will be the biggest factor to me, and I really hope they don't run it into the ground with flashbacks ala Angel or Arrow if you don't mind the mixed genre reference.

Objectively the worst starwars commander on the big-screen (Worst from an in-universe perspective. From the viewer's experience he can't be objectively the worst, but he'd probably rank bottom 2 for most)

Anyhow, It would actually be a problem to set it in the V5 timeline. You'd miss too much and it'd be too hard to follow. You've gotta build the Tremere up before you blow them up.

I don’t think the old Kindred: The Embraced show actually included the Tremere at all, in fact. Anyway, you don’t need to provide exposition for the entire VTM background in the first episode, so no, you don’t need to build up any Clan or individual vampire in order to have them represented in their current situation in a TV show.
