For a Changling and Werewolf show. I have a flashback to supposed supernatural shows that have long stretches of nothing magic happening and boring love triangle drama because you don't have the fucking budget for superpowers

Interesting. Why animation? I like the medium (it's not a genre) and think it can handle a lot of stories. But nothing in the WoD feels like it needs animation, at least not to me.

I will fully admit to not having read this thread, but I just wanted to plug our latest podcast episode, where we talk about this:

I hope the WoD shows takes after things like Blake's Seven (in terms of ending), the Handmaid's Tale, the film The Road (barring the upbeat ending), Game of Thrones (before it turned stupid), Black Mirror, the Affair, the Shadowline, and MLP Friendship Is Magic.

Kind of a bizarre statement given it IS an MCU film and one of the highest grossing of them.

    Also, there's no "if"

It's like saying, "Spider-Man only succeeded because of the fact he has a pre-existing fanbase."

I have an idea about what direction I want this multi media project to go.

Fuck movies, TV shows are better.
Stick to animation as it lets you get away with the crazy shit like the massive Nosforatu Caverns or the Tzimitzi flesh haven or the Vohzd or....well anything from werewolf and mage. Bonus points if it's rotoscoped ala "Undone" (I dig that fucking show).
If you want to go the extra mile tie the show with the games that are coming out soon or the V5 meta plot.

Which is ironic because Korra is like 4 seasons of Korra becoming aware of systemic bias against Benders, peasants vs. the Monarchy, and the evils Ethno-Nationalism.

(Season 2 is her fighting the Devil so that doesn't count)

Let's not forget that eveyone's played bloodlines which is set in LA and they want to see all the familiar faces and locals, I understand that's partially the appeal of the LA actual play but I never got into it. Which is a shame cause Nines is supposed to be in it.

That movie was obviously made to pander to the citizens of the PRC.

I also note that people thought Captain Marvel would bomb because of it and it made billions, which people on some forums I frequent denied because it utterly refuted their view that broad based multicutural and inclusive writing were not actually extremely lucractive.

"go woke go broke" is also a disguise usually for much nastier motivations.

    Edit:

And the Expanse and WItcher are both fantastic programs that are critically acclaimed as well as genre darlings. I think Vampire: The Masquerade will be fine.

John Wick's cool and all but the Ideal WoD series has to follow The Big Lebowski.
Three good friends, one a liberal slob (The Dude, A Malkavian. Wait, maybe he's human? ), one an uptight conservative nutcase (A brujah), and the last a weakling that wants everyone to get along (A Caitiff) . They enjoy bowling together. Everything's fine until a case of mistaken identity gets the dude attacked and thus sets him to seek compensation from an uptight millionaire (ventrue) that caused this misunderstanding. Stuff, Stuff, Crazy Toreador woman, a Settite who deals in porn... Oh, and the Germans (Sabbat)...

Everything about the BL nails "WoD" from the script to the cinematography to the scathing subtext. Only thing that doesn't work for vampires is how... ugly the main characters are (But that works well for mortals)

That or you imitate Kubrick. Or Tarrantino.
