What happens to Wyrd magic, calling upon the Wyrd, chimera becoming Wyrd, flying on a magic carpet without unenchanted viewers, etc, when someone pulls out their phones camera and takes a photo/video?

I would say it either comes out blurry, doesn't work or looks "so fake" to mundanes that only the most commited conspiracy people believe it.

Although, I would ask, what happens if owner of the phone is a popular streamer with thousands if not millions of viewers? Wyrd being in effect would mean, they all should see it, comment on it and share.

Twitch and Twitter might go batshit for a bit.

That was by one camera though, a Wyrd hiccup would be getting lots of different perspectives.

With multiple cameras someone would find a way to argue that the angles are wrong in a couple of them. Just one fake can make people assume the whole lot are faked.

We had something like that happen in our game and the ST ruled that the content itself is intact but anyone who is not enchanted will rationalize what's happening to fit what is acceptable to the banal world. If a Changeling or enchanted person saw the footage however, they'd see what actually happened.

Or it could be argued that cameras can't catch the faerie aspects of chimera or changelings Calling upon the Wyrd, that the Mists protect humans from even this, that you need special apparatus (like those made by the nockers) to film or photograph the Dreaming. So, even a sidhe riding up a chimerical horse and the sidhe having Call Upon the Wyrd, the horse using a Redes to become real would just show a handsome man riding a perfectly normal (if beautiful) horse.

I seem to remember (though this was 2nd ed, so maybe it would work differently on Ch20) that whenever a Wyrd event was video taped, the Mists would work on the footage making it seem fake, blurry, or even delete the whole thing.
I like the idea of it being affected that way by the Mists... UNLESS you are enchanted, in which case you can see the tape normally...

The Mists destroy any evidence of the Dreaming, up to and including driving every mortal insane that witnesses any evidence of the Dreaming, so any attempt to spread evidence of the Dreaming will either a) be lost as the Mists annihilate the digital and physical copies or b) drive thousands of people insane as the Mists destroy their ability to process the evidence that they witnessed. The Mists are not kind and will destroy mortals to protect the Dreaming (a physical breech into the Near Dreaming above NYC would probably either drive the entire population insane or cause the entire island of Manhattan to be physically transported into the Dreaming).

It's like the Arcane background. Physical, hardcopy records just somehow get misplaced, or didn't record properly, or were accidentally destroyed. It's not an active decision of the Mists, it's just a Thing That Happens as a result of the Mists.
