And that's a thicker book than Victorian Age: Vampire...

I just want confirmation that it will be heavy in discussion of colonialism and the non-European Tradition Mages ready to utterly forsake any association with their Western Counterparts (Chakravanti vs. Order of the Black Willow; Vishnudharadhara vs. Christian Chorusters, Sahajiya vs. Hellfire Clubs, Dreamspeakers vs everyone)

Not only that - I really hope that this time authors would describe at length countries beyond "anglo-saxon axis", like such Technocracy friendly state as Bismark's Germany.

If we get any wordcount at all thrown at a description of Awakened society in Victorian Hong Kong, I'll have received my money's worth.

I just wish they would expand the timeline a bit so they could cover things like the Opium Wars, but this should mean they should be able to cover such figures as Jack the Ripper (1888).

I assume we can expect the Progenitors of the era (or equivalent, there are a couple of names they've been called in the era by different books I think), are going to be dominated by unabashed racist Eugenicists? The Ivory Tower and [Syndicate] will be equally well wed to the eugenicists via Social Darwinism?

Socialism exists of course and is the only major voice in the era against the idea that poverty and social problems are caused by in-born failures as opposed to external oppression, but it's still an anti-establishment resistance cause, so not one that's going to have pull amongst Technocrat elites. That won't change until the Bolsheviks shape it into an ideology of Statist control, and it can catch the NWO's eye. As a modernist secularist paradigm, it likely has some Technocrat support, but they'd be a hunted minority seen as Craftmasons resurgent.

                      Just my off hand thoughts...

I find it more plausible they'd just be ignored. No need to rock the boat further while restructuring.

Well, it's the World of Darkness, so shouldn't they be WORSE than they were in the real world? (Shudder)

It's going to be an interesting tightrope to walk. Presenting the darkness of that time without wading in the ick and offending scads of people. There was a lot of good stuff about the Victorian era too. Unfortunately, some of THAT went bad as well down the line...

Speaking for myself I'd be much more offended by white-washing away the realities of eugenics, social-darwinism, and imperialism - rather than including them. Including doesn't mean endorsing after all: The goal should actually be to critically spot-light those elements.

Speaking tangentially to Victorian academics, this is the era of the myth of white Grecian marbles was invented, and the era of "restoring" medieval Churches by removing any hint of their murals in favor of the "grandeur" of plain white edifices. Here's a good blog post on Western chromophobia and its Victorian roots, and why "Victorian Restoration" is an oxymoron for architecture nerds and archeologists: http://medievalpoc.tumblr.com/post/7...e-chromophobes

It's very thematic to the Technocratic Union - rewriting history not through objective research, but through a belief in what they see as "rational" and "clean" - with all the attendant imperialist baggage that goes with it.
