  • Details on Prospero

    Hello,
After reading Beckett's Jyhad Diary I am wondering if there is any more cannon info on Prospero. Haven't found anything on google.

    Thanks!

Ah an author insert? Cool enough character. Hope to see more of him.

      Thanks!

No no, he's a canonical character, but the pseudonym he's going by in that chapter (and elsewhere) is Prospero.

Speaking strictly as the author of that section, I can assure you that Prospero is not an author insert. He has merely chosen to be pseudononymous for the last two thousand years or so because his extended family hates him and wants him to die. A lot. Not to mention all the Theophidian fundamentalists. Bastards never give up.

...Wait, he's not Tanitbaal-Sahar, is he?

Shakespeare's Prospero (i.e. the Tempest) was a magician who lived on an island. BJD's Prospero is a blood magician who lives on an island. Both are masters of their domain but also existing in a kind of exile. I suspect they both have a version of Caliban hanging around, even if the vampire version has not (yet) appeared on stage, so to speak.

Out of curiosity, in what chapter of BJD would he be found?

The Baali? I highly doubt it. The Brujah might learned Dark Thaumaturgy from his old records in his library. But yeah, he seems to know a lot.

Wasn't he diablerized by Sarrasine? His childe's generation was 6th in WoD2nd IIRC.

In the Dark Ages Novel Setite Khay'tall had hidden his heart away and it ended up back in Setite hands. Who knows what may have happened afterwards.
