  • The greatest vampire in WOD

Who is in your opinion the greatest vampire of all time in the world of darkness and why? To define greatness we need to ask ''greatest in what aspect?" I would imagine everybody looks at greatness in a different way. Is greatness measured by achievements, knowledge, influence, personal power or something else? it's probably a combination of many aspects. So you can decide what criteria's matter to you.

          There are two possible answers.

          El Diablo Verde, and WRONG.

It's a three-way tie between Vitel, Madame Guil, and Montano.

Baba Yaga is so damn classy and adds a sense of romanticism and myth I can't help but love her!

Shoot me but I also love El Diablo Verde, I have a place for him even if some don't.

And Al-Ashrad is so damn sensible and competent, he was destined for great things and making him the childe of Ur-Shulgi chained him, he may have overshadowed him if he was a direct childe of Haquim.

I always think that one reason why Haqim let U-S not himself to embrace A-A is that he fears Ashrad will overshadow or even kill him...

His stats is overpowerful for a 3000+ year-old 5th gens.

Yeah honestly I think he was depressed at becoming a Vampire. Before that he was a Mage with a limitless future, he even whooped Haquims favored childer who was an elder of Ur-Shulgi and a few others, because they thought it was a good idea to jump an archmagus who wielded a bow that shot sunlight... It was definitely an attempt to muzzle him.

Well, Clayton A. Oliver used to answer similiar question.

Do note that the character's background section is written very much in-character, and any use of "mage" in that context is by Children of Haqim who don't enjoy our multi-book perspective.

So at least in the CoN he may not be an archmage, not even an aweakened.
But in the latter Assamite CB Revised his saying is quoted when talking about the magus, see page 63. Maybe authorities have different opinions.
