  • Caine is probably dead!

There i said it. Somehow the general consensus is, that he is out there chopping woods or something or maybe part timing as a cab driver. But there is no trace of him since the fall of the first city. Nothing whatsoever! Every other ancient has left bread crumbs through out history, that's why we know the antes exist. Caine not so much. Isn't the logical conclusion that he is dead? Or maybe he never existed in the first place? The book of nod seems like horse shit to me. Involving god and angels in the creation of vampires. As if the almighty would give two cents about an illiterate farmer that killed his brother

Why do you assume i am trolling? Why does it make more sense that he is still out there? Not a single trace since the fall of the first city! And what evidence is there really about his existence? Who in recorded history even met the guy?

Because he might be dead or not depending on your chronicle but through the years White Wolf has touched on him more than once. You yourself mention the cab driver but I could cite Kapaneus from Gehenna and the fact that his mother was alive and well by the end of the 90s and planned to visit him so we can assume he was still alive by that time.

In other words Caine has been hinted to still be alive by WW, if you want him to be dead or never having existed that is all fine and dandy but it's only your choice.

Pretty sure the big G isn't going to let him croak until he asks for forgiveness because that how old testament God rolls.

I like to think Caine was overshadowed by the Antes. Caine would have perhaps the highest Dominate and Potence, and maybe fortitude but he also has the most potent curse/agony from vampiric banes like Sunlight and Faith. And I have it he never cultivated genius and skill to the degree of the Antes.

Demon the Fallen portrays God as possibly being Dead shortly after cursing Caine when he banished the Fallen, or possibly before when he touched Creation to Curse the Fallen. Some theorized G shattered into the Triat, the very machinery of Creation, and thus isn’t aware as a singular being. And Caine’s curse could be exaggerated and could be the powered by the godlike angels or even as the Book of Nod Notes point out it could have been a curse by Adam using Theurgy to invoke his father God.

God isn't dead, he just went to the gas station to get cigarettes.

                          Does it matter?

The only way I can see it actually mattering is if he were to show up in a game. If he doesn't show up, then does it matter?

Ya, I agree that if he doesn't show up it doesn't matter. If he does show up, he can pretty much do whatever he wants with a stat level of YES. To me those sorts of games are boring because the party's just along for the ride while other people do their epic godlike stuff. At that point it's an escort quest and as Tigtone said "All escort quests are the same! Hated by me!"

I think Caine's fate is left deliberately ambiguous in order to give Storytellers maximum freedom. He could be the bartender you go to for sage advice or the majority stockholder of PENTEX. Whatever works for you.
