I'm not certain who else would have tried to secretly run the Grove before Carna, though.
I've always assumed Cult of Ecstasy barrabbi or other Nephandi, given the combo of hedonistic, possibly sinister rituals and a smorgasbord of heads of state.

My dear guests! I am Ms. Blake, your hostess. Welcome to Bohemian Grove!

      CRISPUS ATTUCKS & SMILING JACK

Crispus, whether he truly is the legendary figure of the Boston Maccacre or took his name in honor of said man, has been waiting for an opportunity such as this for years. After decades of brooding over the systematic undermining of MLK Jr. and Malcolm X, fighting the war on drugs terrorizing Black communities in the 80s from LA to Chicago, and every other battle he’s had to face; he’s risen on an upsurge of popular support to retake a prominent role at the head of both the Anarch Movement and the Liberation Movement.

Crispus Attucks is a vehement and vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement as well as it’s more radical or aggressive sister and brother movements. Recollecting the glory fights of yore he has breathed new fire into revitalization’s of the Black Panthers and Black Liberation Army.

He has avid supporters in the Anarch Movement but his historically close relationship with Jeremy MacNeil and his age have been both a blessing and a curse. Many anarch have been happy to rally to his banner and Crispus is once again considered one of the cultural leaders of Clan Brujah in North America.

Yet he has his detractors. Some claim that Crispus is too out of touch, that he’s bringing old mentalities from centuries past to a modern fight, that he glamorizes his past triumphs and seems to recreate them rather then push forward. Others claim that he could be a dangerous threat to the success of the movements, damaging their respectability and appeals to legitimacy.

Regardless though, while so many kindred are struggling to adapt to an environment where the kine are more fearful and hesitant of public spaces, Crispus is thriving on the waves of a resurgent revolution.

Besides, no matter how bothersome his tactics are, most anarchy concerned with respectability politics know that Crispus Attucks is a saint compared to the great iconoclast himself: Smiling fucking Jack.

The man who never found a statue he wouldn’t rather see tumbled, an office he wouldn’t rather see burned, and a window he wouldn’t rather see smashed.

The year doesn’t mean shit to ol’ Jack.

That bastard pirate just keeps on keeping on...

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines Update part 2

            E and Lily

E and Lily managed to make it as far as Chicago before getting involved with the Anarchs there. Unfortunately, the Anarch community proved to be divisive as E soon found himself cheating on Lily with another Thin Blood and siring a child. E, the sort of man who was raised "right", decided to raise the child with the mother and parted ways with his sire. The Second Inquisition and Dusable have since been hunting him, killing the mother of his child and hunting them both across the nation. The birth of a dhampyr, especially one with two Kindred parents, has made him a fugitive.

Lily has found herself in something of a more depressing situation as she moves from a variety of Kindred boyfrineds (and sometimes girlfriends) for protection. Her blood and willingness to feed them while feeding from animals makes her a valuable commodity as well as a sad one. Anita Wainwright has considered taking her on as an apprentice but isn't sure she has the Anarch fire.

            Ming Xiao

Actually did not die at the hands of the Los Angeles Ripper but managed to survive through the power of illusion. Unfortunately, she might as well have died because the resulting disaster inspired a full scale revolt against the Kuei-Jin in San Fransisco, Los Angeles, and other locations. Ming Xiao ended up being blamed for the deaths of so many of her fellows as well as the larger collapse of the Great Leap Outward. Ming Xiao knows she can never return to her homeland due to the monumental nature of her failure so she's begun feeding information to the Camarilla as well as hiding her true nature. It galls her to live among Leeches but she'd rather be rich and powerful among monsters than poor and good among humans.

            Isaac Abrams

Isaac Abrams managed to organize the Anarchs into a "Council of Baronies" after the Fall of La Croix and arguably did more to stabilize the Anarch Free States than Jeremy MacNeil ever did. However, the fact it suspiciously resembled a Princedom with a Primogen was not entirely lost on him. Isaac eventually felt what he assumed to be the Beckoning and left Los Angeles, only to discover that it was actually the Presence call of his sire Christopher. Christopher desired to diablerize Isaac in order to resist the call but Isaac, working with Joaquin Murrieta, managed to stake as well before destroying their sire.

Isaac is still feeling the Beckoning but as a far weaker pull. He and Joaquin are currently traveling America, working to organize the Anarchs as a whole.

            Ash Rivers

When the Ripper told Ash Rivers to see him Canada, he (or she) was being sarcastic. However, Ash actually took the advice and headed up there to hide. Unfortunately, not having bothered to pay attention to a single word of his sire's advice, he ended up going to Montreal and getting forcibly induced into the Sabbat. Which has worked out fantastic for him. Abandoning his morality for something called "The Path of Cathari" (that he only understands as getting fucked up every night and screwing as many Kine as possible), he learned the rudiments of Protean and adjusted his face JUST ENOUGH to get back into acting. Ash managed to survive the Second Inquisition by abandoning his Pack members at the first sign of trouble--Vaulderie be damned.

Ash is now the star of a lot of low budget streaming-based movies and is more Sorbo now than megastar. However, he couldn't be happier and has started courting the Nephilim because "religions like Scientology are good for your career." His sire would be appalled.

            Andrei

Andrei always suffered under the cruel mockery of being considered a, "second rate, wannabe Vykos" in the Sabbat. He was a Koldun, vivisectionist, Transylvanian Lord, and a variety of other things that made people consider him something of a joke. His death at the hands of the Los Angeles Ripper only cemented this reputation for him. However, the death of an Elder of his power had bigger results than many expected.

Without Andrei, the Blood Brothers no longer had someone who could create more of them and the Sabbat's fleshy monstrocities stopped being used as between him and Vykos they were the chief source of them. The lack of them in Mexico City played a role in the city's fall to the one two punch of the Second Inquisition and Camairlla.

His video would also eventually become a massively famous Youtube sensation akin to Slenderman or Rickrolling. The Second Inquisition still tracks the people who watch it.

Ah we're talking fluff? I was hoping we'd talk some crunch too.

Like Guess who this guy is?

              Strength: 5 Charisma: 4 Intelligence 5
              Dexterity:4 Manipulation 3 Wits 4
              Stamina: 5 Composure 4 Resolve: 5

Abilities: lots, but if anyone could have survival 6, it'd be this guy.

              Animalism 5, Auspex 5, Blood Sorcery 5, Celerity 5, Dominate 5 , Fortitude 5, Obfuscate 5, Potence 5, Presence 5, Protean 5

              Concept: A very old vampire
Ambition: get God to go fuck himself
              Predator type: uhhh... Apocalyptic?
              Sire: Demiurge
              Clan: Caitiff
              Gen: 1

You know, looking at these stats, I bet a well prepared coterie of neonates could take him. I mean, Giovanni got chumped, and he was by-far the weakest of Antes. But like, we could chomp all the antes right now. anyone thinking up stories on new antes getting downed? What happens then.
I'm wondering how lasombra is coping with oblivion 5 . Not exactly going to blot out the sun with that shitty discipline. So, like, anyone got some 2020 Gehenna ideas? (like, an actual proper -hoo-ha, not a fucking pandemic that's totally screwed over my job.)

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

The funny thing about this thread is that it's NOT necessarily about updating to V5. So, you're just threadcrapping.

You could have updated the stats for V20 to 2020.

                So, leave the thread forever.

A little long. A little Meta. Please forgive me.
Etrius. Agent of the Many Eyed Wyrm.
Saulot, the Many Eyed Wyrm, did not perish with the collapse of the Tremere Prime Chantry. Instead, Earth, rubble and warped wards trapped the Antediluvian deep beneath the streets of Vienna. When the Second Inquisition attacked and the chantry fell, the Many Eyed Wyrm exerted itself and saved the life of Etrius. Etrius tried to escape to Tremere using the ritual escape to a True Friend but the ritual was rebuffed. Etrius’ blood bond broke as he realized Tremere had abandoned him and left him to die. It is likely the powers of the Wyrm helped. So far it appears Tremere believes Etrius dead due to the Blood Bond between him and Etrius snapping in the midst of the assault by the Second Inquisition. In the face of Tremere’s betrayal Etrius pledged himself to Saulot, the Many Eyed Wyrm.
Etrius feeds the Many Eyed Wyrm the vitae of Anarchs, Thin-bloods, and Caitiff. From the castoffs the Methuselah slakes his own thirst after having met his master’s needs. Etrius suffers from the fabled Methuselah’s thirst, unable to slate his thirst from the blood of mortals. Instead he delights in consuming the heart’s blood of the Duskborn and the Caitiff. He irrationally places responsibility for his current state amd the fall of House and Clan upon the fabled scapegoats.
Saulot as Beast has set several goals for Etrius. The foremost is to kill Tremere as the Beast fears Tremere may have glimpsed his true name and may find some means to destroy him should Tremere ever learn he remains alive. The second task the Beast has set for Etrius follows the motivation of the first. Secrecy. Etrius or his pawns must never be discovered and if they are they will be eliminated. The last goal Saulot as beast has set Etrius is to destroy the book of the War Grave. The foul book prevented the Wyrm from truly taking control of the clan. The many eyed Wyrm believes the book is the source of the current clan Bane and so prevents the pyramid from reforming. On a personal level Etrius aims to steal the clan from under Tremere and bring them to the worship of his master as a snub against Tremere and as a means to return the clan to power.
Etrius has built a series of mystery cults which he uses to gather and corrupt the Anarchs who have invaded his city. The temples are built under the streets far from the street lights and CCTV cameras of the streets above. He allows several patsy from the Ministry to lead his cults, all the while manipulating them towards preaching the faith of the many Eyed Wyrm. The cultists readily betray the values of the Anarch movement to which they belong and sacrifice Dusk-born and Caitiff to Saulot as Beast all for the promise of greater power and greater reward.
On a more global scale Etrius works towards corrupting his fellow Warlocks. Painstakingly Etrius uses his magic to retrieve texts, tombs and artifacts buried within the ruins of the chantry. Tomb raiders, and there is a surprisingly large number, are guided towards treasures which the kindred adventurers will never profit from. After having performed the heavy labour the Methuselah easily arranges for their deaths. Once in possession of an artifact, Etrius uses the rituals within the book as bait to lure ancilla and neonates towards the worship of Saulot, the Many Eyed Wyrm. Those who refuse meet a grisly end. Those that accept the blood of the Wyrm, however receive access to powers of Blood Sorcery that were once thought the domain of infernalists. For the moment none have incurred the taint usually associated with pledging to a demon but it is still early days.
Etrius, no longer able to access his wealth for fear of discovery and unwilling to bring notice to himself by skimming off funds from the cults he created, is forced to live a very humble life off the graces of the Austrian state. So far the mask he created using his name of birth Ingvar has held up towards scrutiny. Etrius poses as an Anarch artist. When not painting for the tourists “Ingvar” is best known for his large canvases depicting the struggle of good and evil, angels and devils where it is not always clear the side of “good” has won. His work is surprisingly of some quality and from which he takes an inflated sense of pride. He is unwilling to forgo the accolades his art brings even though he is making every effort to remain obscure.
