Do Feral Weapons count as melee for the purposes of Prowess being halved or not?

Feral Weapons are light piercing weapon +2 .
So it's no longer unarmed.
So half.

It's definitely unarmed. Feral Weapons specifically modifies Brawl damage, not Melee.

So it's not unarmed, it's light piercing weapon with use brawl stat to roll for attack. It would be too OP other way.
