I'll ignore the in-setting discussion because it is a) against the point of a thought exercise in the rules and b) justifiable if you really want to. This is fiction, unless something is objectively stated as impossible in official material, then any interpretation is just an interpretation.

Yes. Akhu is a setite secret, but not an in-clan discipline. This combo is possible on a starting character, RAW, only for Caittif.

It is in-clan for the Echidna Witches in DAV20.

        Noted.
If you knew anything about Akhu... The Witches of echidna don't work. Akhu isn't witchcraft, It's a very religious, very ceremonial, very "noble" magic, even if the Settites like to invert a few things in mockery, it's still a "high" magic, and something meant to be practiced by Priests and Priestesses. It's also distinctly Egyptian. Witchcraft is "low" magic, "peasant" magic, "person who poisons the neighbour" magic. You'll also do well to note that the Echicna witches are Greek themed...

Knowing this, the WoE come across as somebody not knowing too much about egyptian religion, noting that there's a man at the head of the settite faith, not knowing that the "Priest" also includes priestesses, and deciding that their admitedly cool bloodline/Bahari cult should somehow fill the imaginary womanly void of the FoS, and they should be wiped out because.. women are persecuted? Point being, it's a mess of misunderstandings: A Greek themed Lilith cult forming the "missing part" in a FoS trinity is totally unwarranted, and it makes no sense for Priests to rely on witches for explicitly Priest magic.
The bloodline in a vacuum is... fine, provided you change Akhu to some other style of thaumaturgy. But tying it to Set... no. It's a clear example of why a lot of DAV20 should be ignored because a good chunk of it is bad fanfic and not at all indicative of VTM/DA.

Oh and if you do want to have them Canon, they were arranged to be destroyed before modern nights, much like the nu(old?)Ahrimanes.
