    101 Sabbat Story Hooks

I've noticed that while the nWoD forums have 1,001 storyhooks for vampires and mages (among others), it doesn't look like the Sabbat has such love over here. Let's contribute some ideas and thoughts on what to do with the Sabbat.

18: A 30-year-old man who has recently become a 2nd generation Vampire is seen wandering Mexico City. He claims to have seen Caine and was embraced because he had a "destiny", but overall, he is frightened of what is happening. What will the local Sabbat do: recruit him, diablorize him or kill him? And why has Caine embraced him? Does he need a warrior for Ghenna, someone to pass his curse onto or just plain loneliness?

19: The local Tzmisce Bishop just embraced someone and before she could recruit him into the Sabbat, the Camarilla interfered, staked him and ran off with the fledgeling. Depending on what the Camarilla will do to him (kill him, recruit him (and use his fleshcraft to help maintain the masquerade) or use him for ransom), the party will have to tread carefully as the try to get him back on the Camarilla's turf.

15: Seems like there are a lot of Toreador Antitribu in positions of power in this city. Most of them are childer or grandchilder of a noted elder and hero of the last Civil War... who shares a sire with the Prince of that Camarilla city sixty miles away...

16: A Tzimisce starts offering mortals the chance to look like whatever they want in exchange for "a small favour". What is this building to?

17: DRACULA IS COMING! Or, y'know, that's the word at the last Ritae.

14: Art is important in this town, with elder's prestige owned by whose pieces they own and who they extend patronage to. Two artists have risen above the rest in recent months - a Tzimisce who creates immobile works of living flesh that call to mind ancient marble, and a Toreador antitribu so far ahead of the avant-garde curve as to be all but incomprehensible - and the fanbases for both are all but breaking out into violence in the streets. How can you quiet things down before these snobs are at each other's throats?

13: A powerful Lasombra Archbishop has become a little too attached to the Abyss and it is slowly eating his mind. Once there is nothing left, it will take over his body and spread it's "influence" to the rest of the Sabbat. Can the party try to convince him to stop before it is too late or they have to put him out of his misery?

12: Something strange is happening among the Ventrue Antitribu. It is as if they suddenly snapped and are now taking down Sabbat strongholds en masse. The ones that are caught, claim that something just "emerged" and shut their free will off. Is this a sign of the awakening of the Ventrue Antediluvian or some other entity that wants to make the blue bloods it's scapegoats and pawns?

    11. Sabbat Noir. The year is 1947 in Los Angeles, California. The Black Dahlia murder is tearing up the kine community. The Sabbat are interested, too, because they know one of their own did it: a Tzimisce neonate, whose sire is the Priest for the biggest pack in the city.

The question that's on every Cainite's lips: what to do with the neonate? His sire says it's one mortal, and he'll be damned if his childe is gonna be punished for doing what vampires do. The Archbishop, on the other hand, has to both deal with mortal authorities looking into the Sabbat's business, and the Camarilla getting on the war path about enforcing their precious Masquerade. Half the city's Sabbat think the fledgling should be made an example of, for being so profoundly careless. The other half think that'd make the Sword no better than the Cammies.

So? There's gonna be a vote. The Archbishop thinks that'll shut things down before they get out of hand. She's wrong.

And you? You get a call one night from the culprit's Priest sire. He says he knows you guys are good at digging things up. He offers you a very big reward. He wants to know why it happened. Because apparently...the childe doesn't know either.

8: Rumours of a Noddist text (or strange artefact, or body which might be an elder in torpor, etc.) discovered in a nearby archaeological dig has the occult side of the sect up in arms. Some want to learn from it, others to destroy it sight unseen, and they're prepared to break the Silence to do it.

9: That club kid you just left bloodless in a dumpster? His mother is the Priest of the biggest Pack in town.

10: Use a classic Camarilla/Anarch plot and see how do the Sabbat deal with it. For instance, what do they do about newspaper headlines reading 'Vampire' Killer Strikes Again?

    7. Strange events in the city have drawn the attention of an Inquisitor who comes to investigate. Suspicion quickly falls upon the player's pack, they must find the real culprit to clear their names.
(Bonus points: make a trustworthy player the infernalist being hunted, they have to manufacture a scapegoat in another pack to take the fall - the player in question must be able to accept that if they fail their character will die)

    3. Everyone knows about the epic grudge the Tzimisce have against the Tremere, but no one ever seems to remember that the Gangrel and the Nosferatu suffered almost as much at their hands. A triumvirate of three elders - one from each clan - is rallying support for a strike against the Warlocks, and gaining a fair amount of traction. IF SET BEFORE THE TREMERE ANTITRIBU ARE SLAIN, then this is leading to a massive amount of tension in the city that the archbishop is struggling to quell. IF SET AFTER, then the trio may well spark a crusade against a nearby Camarilla domain that doesn't have proper authorization or organization.

    4. A local Fiend's haven has been broken into, the Cainite within assassinated. What the invader didn't account for are the number of szlachta and one damn ugly vozhd that are now running wild and free. The Sabbat doesn't like to admit it, but maintaining the Masquerade is in their best interests.

    5. The Salubri antitribu are showing up in town with strange frequency. What the hell do they want, and why here? One thing's for sure; they aren't telling.

    6. The head inquisitor in this domain has made a pact in secret with a demon; he's using the Dark Thaumaturgy the vile thing grants to slay the servants of other demons. If word somehow got out, it would be a massive debacle, but surely the greater good must be considered?

    2. A torpid Methuselah has been discovered near the characters' city. The Archbishop excavated it from its tomb, brought it home, and locked it in a vault, intending to diablerize the ancient creature as part of a very large, very public ceremony. It'd be great. Everyone would see the Sword of Caine strike a blow against its hated enemy. It'd make the young'uns more committed to opposing the Antediluvians, be real all-around morale booster. Right? Only the Archbishop's been killed by a less far-minded Kindred who simply wanted to diablerize the Methuselah himself, and now a thousand other copycats have gotten the same idea. The local Sabbat is falling apart like a house of cards while the Sword of Caine's purported enemy lies safe and sound in the late Archbishop's vault. If things aren't already bad enough, the Final Deaths of so many Kindred are disturbing the Methuselah's slumber. If the matter isn't resolved soon, the local Sword of Caine's hypocrisy may well be its undoing.

    Don't really play VtM, but I'll give a shot;

    1. Sashca Vykos wants the traitor Prince of Milan, Giangaleazzo, brought to It in a box. But without having escaped retribution through Final Death.
