Anne Rice vampire bloodline - a bit of fun

I had a bit of fun making this and decided to spread the love a bit. Basically, this is a thread about putting various media vampires into the World of Darkness as bloodlines.

Any ideas for expanding on this and making them "canon" are welcome here.

    Bloodlines

    Akasha (Interview with the Vampire)
    La Magrans (Blade)
    Corvinus (Underworld)
    Aurelius (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
    Lilitu (True Blood)
Cullen (Twilight - Yes, I did it)
Interview with the Vampire alternative by Just John, Forever...
Interview with the Vampire alternative part 2 by Just John, Forever
Los Pandoricos (From Dusk Til Dawn, movie version)
Sal Permalum Bibit (Star Trek) by Theodrim
    Soucriants (Byzantium)

    =====

    Akasha

Nickname: Lestats (a fact which amuses him greatly)

Quote: "None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are.”

The Akasha bloodline is currently in a great deal of hot water with the rest of the vampire race. There are Masquerade breaches and there are Masquerade breaches. In this case, the Akasha bloodline is infamous for the fact its most famous member not only published his biography after childer did but briefly became one of the world's most famous rock musicians.

In the World of Darkness where The Vampire Chronicles occurred, the events of the first three books are largely canon before Anne Rice was Dominated (or ghouled) into producing somewhat more misleading works. How much if any of the subsequent events are true is up to individual Storytellers to interpret but the Toreador as a whole are presently protecting her. The fact the books mention only Lestat and his circle of associate's secrets rather than that of vampiredom as a whole is also a point in their favor.

The Akasha are a bloodline of the Toreador clan and traditionally considered to be members. While the writings of Anne Rice state they were created through necromancy, it is more likely their founder was actually embraced by the Toreador Antedeluvian. It is only subsequent experimentation with the spirit world which resulted in them drifted from the mainstream clan.

There is very little to differentiate the Akashans from mainstream Toreador until recent months aside from the fact many of its members took up the Path of the Devil in the Middle Ages and only recently abandoned Satan worship as a viable activity. Its members include numerous ancients and individuals who have been pillars of Camarilla society. Well, were pillars, as those mentioned in the book would be laughingstocks if not for the fact they're terrifying in person.

It should be noted Lestat, himself, is a figure who is the only known figure to ever have been removed from the Camarilla Red List. After being declared anathema by the Camarilla following his flagrant disregard for the Masquerade and living as Autarkis for decades thereafter, he's since been removed due to the fact he's become the lineage head of the Akasha Bloodline. To kill Lestat is to kill all of the Akasha followers and not even the Camarilla's most fervent die-hards wish to do that.

It should be noted many neonate vampires are completely unaware the Akasha are actually a real-life bloodline of the Toreador and need to be told, "No, we're actually serious. The books are real." In that respect, Lestats actions have actually done an amazing job of protecting the Masquerade as no one takes the idea the characters from the books are real serious any more than Sherlock Holmes or Doctor Watson showing up would be. As far as anyone knows, Lestat is merely the product of Anne Rice's fictions as well as a licensed character used by a particularly talented 80s hair-band lead vocalist. Lestat, himself, often takes aliases when dealing with new vampires as he finds his newfound fame both amusing as well as tiresome.

Akashans tend to be Low Humanity but rarely slip into wassail now that they have abandoned the Path of the Devil. It is a bloodline with strong divides between the Ancients and those who have been more recently embraced. Somehow, they have discovered or passed down the secret of the Laibon "sharing" generation Thaumaturgy ritual and most modern members of the bloodline have extremely low generation (5th to 8th) with Fortitude as an Additional Discipline.

Lestat and some of the older ones are indeed so powerful with their Fortitude scores they can effectively move around during the day if they do not get hit by direct sunlight very often. How they maintain their self-control is another matter entirely and is arguably more impressive. Replacing the Path of the Devil is the Path of the Prince, Path of Heaven, Path of Night (classic version), Path of the Beast, and Path of Memnoch which informs the behaviors of specific ancients. Typically, their versions take the form of killing only the Evil Doer and having little care for mortals but immense love for the arts as well as unlife.

Many Akashans possess an older form of Blood Magic created by and inherited from the bloodline of the Methuselah Maharet. This allows them to purchase "Maharet's Kiss" (7pt)/Loresheet which allows them to buy Thaumaturgy as an in-clan discipline. These vampires possess Lure of the Flames, Movement of the Mind, Spirit Thaumaturgy, and other paths related to manipulation of the soul.

Lestat is extremely high on the Path of the Prince, believed to be a self-created path influence by the Road of Paradox and Road of Heaven which may be why he is able to move around the day so well.

    Disciplines: Auspex, Potence, Presence

Weakness: The Akasha bloodline has both the Toreador weakness as well as their own collection of minor but annoying weaknesses. The Toreador weakness notably takes the form of focus on personal beauty. They gain a +1 to the difficulty of their rolls when becoming fascinated with Appearance scores above 4.

Akashans also notably suffer a change in appearance which renders them very identifiable as vampires. All Akashans have a albino-like pallor, predatory eyes, and visible blue veins which is associated with vampires of Low Humanity. Some have speculated this means the Akashans weren't originally Toreador but Cappadochians but most Kindred find the idea ridiculous as they seem to embody the Clan.

Finally, Akashans suffer from a link to the eldest vampire of their bloodline called the "Mark of the Heart's Blood." This is not an actual weakness-weakness but an expression of the late Akasha's Combination Discipline of Quietus 9/Presence 9. Any damage done to Akasha is inflicted upon all members of her bloodline as soakable or aggravated damage. This can be gotten around via death by diablerie but immediately passes to the next head of the lineage.

That is very fun! I almost would rather see it presented not as a "Toreador bloodline", so much as just another unexplained bloodline. Most kindred would assume Toreador, of course, but the cognoscenti would argue for Cappadocians, which with the benefit of having read both Anne Rice and VtM sourcebooks seems much more likely.

Just a fun fact. The word akasha is neither an Egyptian or Uruk term. In Indian religion it refers roughly to what western cosmologists would think of as aether, the empty stuff that fills the spirit world. It is derived from a Telugu term meaning aether, sky, the atmosphere or, ahem, things that are empty and vacuous. The Telugu language is spoken in southwestern India, including the historic region that had included the Kingdom of Qutb Shahi, the capitol of which was... wait for it... Golkonda (aka Golla Konda aka "shepherd's hill") Could this imply yet another line founded and abandoned by Saulot? For that matter a Ravnos origin, and the VtDA 20 Ravnos weakness, could work well in place of the Toreador weakness. Lestat's compulsion would be using beautiful people to make his life easier, Claudia's was feeding inappropriately, and Louis' was whining. Mon dieu, the whining!

Mechanically, it looks more like a VtR bloodline, probably Daeva descended. Also, being in VtR would explain why no matter how outrageously events in the books (people bursting into flames in front of St. Pat's, the sudden disappearance of thousands of vampires who presumably had mortal identities crafted, a rock star convincingly coming out as a vampire in the age of mass media) seem like they should change the nature of the world, there is no impact whatsoever on anything like a meta-plot.

I feel it's a good idea to have the inspirations for the Toreador clan to be put in the Toreador clan. Besides, as we see in the V20 books, the vampire clans all have sub-bloodlines which are still major parts of the clans themselves. You are correct about the Cappadochian connection, though.

Eh, metaplot-smetaplot. There's a lot of weird in the WOD but good point on the Daeva.

I also did a bunch of other Bloodlines based on Media.

          Here's my BLADE adaptation.

          La Magrans

          Nickname:
          Mouthbleeders

Quote: "We should be ruling the humans, not making back-alley treaties with them."

The so-called 14th clan, the La Magrans were until recently one of the most numerous bloodlines on Earth. They were also a subject of scorn and derision for both the Camarilla and Sabbat who refused them entry into their sects for being too similar to the other. The arcane, classicist, and disgusting practices of the sect also lended itself to considering itself too pure for either. Now, the La Magrans find themselves on the verge of, if not extinction, then becoming no more important than any other Bloodline.

La Magrans trace their origins back to the mythical blood god La Magra who some Kindred scholars identity to the Assamite Antedeluvian Haqim (which would go over very poorly with both Assamites and La Magrans). La Magra allegedly turned Summerian Warlord Dagon the Dragon and gave unto him the power to rule humanity. It is debated among non-La Magrans that Dagon was either a Assamite, Brujah, Tzimsice, or even Baali. The most likely explanation is he was a Middle Eastern branch of the Tzimisce, possibly a Naglopers, with its focus on blood as well as magic coming from their relationship.

The La Magrans, much like Tzimsice, keep ghoul families but treat them far differently as all La Magrans above 10th generation are expected to only embrace Revenants. Indeed, the Revenants of the family are treated as full members of the clan and can order those only "turned" around regardless of age or power. This practice is not only considered queer but outright offensive to most other Cainite Clans. Turned members of the La Magrans are perpetually considered second class citizens with expectations of Blood Bonding, Domination, or being treated as cannon fodder.

The La Magrans attempted to join with the Camarilla at the Convention of Thorns but were the only "clan" to be outright turned away. This was due not only to their practice of maintaining ghoul families, practice of Paths of Enlightenment, and disdain for turned vampires but also because of their hideously dangerous Masquerade-breaking flaw. Others believe the La Magrans' flaw was no worse than the Nosferatu's and the real reason was the Tremere and Ventrue both feared the La Magrans' admission would diminish their positions.

Many La Magrans joined the Sabbat but since they considered the entirety of the older bloodlines to be bullshit, they willingly adopted the mantle of Caitiff and lost their roots. It says something about the treatment of their turned neonates that even being the loweliest of the Sabbat was considered to be a step up from being a member of the bloodline. The La Magrans own back alley deals with humans and devotion to the Masquerade got many killed in Sabbat War Parties--especially given Pure Bloods tended to be of very low generation.

Modern La Magrans have largely lost their roots and no longer practice Blood Magic despite having a similar-as-to-be-mechanically-identical Path of Blood as one of their disciplines. Instead, they use this ability without magic and apply it to science in hopes of removing their extensive number of weaknesses. The La Magrans are one of the most scientifically-aware clans and throw millions every year at the possibility of creating a better Kindred.

La Magrans make dramatic use of ghouls, called "Familiars", who are deliberately tattooed with marks to show them as property of the La Magran houses. This is an astoundingly stupid idea given the nature of the Masquerade and has resulted in groups like the Society of Leopold, Sabbat, Arcanum, and various groups of mages having very little difficulty tracking the sect down. Only the La Magrans massive number of embraces as well as the fact these are Turned they don't care about anyway kept them in the black until recently (see below).

It is this kind of attitude which has devastated the clan as the dhampyr Blade, a clan-based Anarch Revolt, a new Nosferatu-La Magran Vicissitude strain hybrid, a genetically engineered plague, and the death of their founder have all hit in very short order. There's even rumors of a direct assault on the Pure Blood system in Detroit. The La Magrans are a shadow of their former self and soon may be a memory like the Cappadochians or Salubri.

          Few will miss them.

          Disciplines: Auspex, Fortitude, Potence

Weaknesses: For all their claims of superiority and godlike power, the La Magra are one of the most inbred and weak vampire bloodlines in existence. Embracing only Revenants has resulted in the House's weaknesses becoming common throughout the La Magran vampire bloodline as a whole. Among other things this means that La Magrans suffer aggravated damage from both garlic as well as silver. These traditional vampire weaknesses means hunters are more likely to get lucky against them than otherwise.

The original and most deliberating weakness of the La Magrans is the fact their mouths bleed vampire blood during frenzy. Whenever they feed during frenzy, the ST should make a self-control check to see if they leave behind blood in the victim. If they do, this will result in either a ghoul (if the subject lives) or a newly-embraced vampire (if they killed the subject).

This has resulted in La Magrans often feeding from subjects they intend to kill, corpses, or keeping prisoners they bleed even when not in frenzy. They often feed off their familiars as well who, at least, can't catch ghouldom. La Magrans often mutilate the corpses of those they don't wish to rise.

            Also, my Underworld adaptation.

            Corvinus

            Nickname:
            Wolfhounds

Quote: "Like the weapons of the previous century, we, too, would become obsolete. Pity, because I lived for it."

The Corvinus Bloodline is one of the most prestigious of the off-shoot clans and closely aligned with Clan Ventrue. So closely aligned that outsiders usually call them Ventrue in cities and few object. While there is resistance in Europe to making the Corvinus a full sub-clan of the Ventrue, it is something the bloodline's leaders often campaigned for. This is due to its ruling Triumvirate's desire conceal the bloodline's history betrayal, experimentation, hybridization, propaganda, and lies.

The Corvinus' sordid history begins with the embrace of Alexander Corvinus, a descendant of Matthias Corvinus. According to the official chronicles of the Bloodline, this was done by a conveinantly missing and presumed deceased 4th generation Ventrue. In all likelihood, Corvinus was actually embraced by no less a personage than Red Lister Enkidu of the Gangrel. People forget the Gangrel were originally warlords and kings themselves. It would also explain the next scandalous bit of their history.

Alexander Corvinus was Kinfolk to the Garou.

It is unknown what morphed the Ventrue (Gangrel) blood in his veins but it is believed it was a combination of the Garou blood in their veins as well as a recent blood-disease to the region plus the fact Kupala's influence was common in Hungary at the time. Others believe Alexander Corvinus attempted to cleanse himself with either Garou rites or blood magic. Rumors attest he may have also later achieved Golconda and joined the Inconnu but this is hearsay. What followed was Alexander (5th Generation) embracing both his children after accidentally draining them both dry and they promptly became an even bigger embarrassment to the modern family. While Marcus was merely a savage brutish warrior, his brother William had already undergone the transformation into a Silver Fang and became one of the first known Abominations (and rapidly entered wassail). This revelation alone would destroy any prestige or respectability the Corvinus have incurred across the centuries.

While Alexander Corvinus left the historical record around this time, Marcus (6th generation) proceeded to embrace Viktor (7th generation, would later claim to be 5th to cover up diablerie) and Amelia (7th) to help bind William in a special tomb for all time. By this time, Viktor was already seven hundred years old, having been Embraced in the 5th century. Then Victor, in the height of arrogance, used his still-loyal mortal armies to hunt the existing Garou and kidnap their families to start breeding his own lycanthrope army.

It is to Vikor's ability to dodge both karma and gross stupidity that the Garou did not eliminate his bloodline outright but it was difficult to determine who was doing what during the Omen War. The Garou eliminated countless Tzimisce and Tremere covens under the mistake impression they were avenging their losses to Viktor. Viktor's experiments with alchemy, blood magic, and Vicissitude wwith his allies resulted in the final creation of a sept of Garou. This would prove to be his undoing as the reincarnating Bone Gnawer Lucius would lead a centuries-long crusade against vampiredom. The fact this was supposedly due to a romance between him and Viktor's adopted Danislav daughter/most beloved childe.

Viktor would betray his Tzimisce allies during the Omen War and ally firmly with the Ventrue later as he re-made his lineage into werewolf hunters. He bribed, exiled, or assassinated all who knew his dark secrets with the help of the Assamites before making them some of the first Archons (known as "Death Dealers" in the clan due to a lost-meaning joke about how aligning with Viktor was a card gamble). Viktor would eventually be forced into torpor by his diablerie but used his Blood Bond on Amelia and Marcus to make sure they ruled only in his name when he wasn't awake.

The modern Corvinus were firm Camarilla supporters, die-hard haters of Lupines, and a mixture of both Elder Harpies with bloodthirsty soldiers. Their focus on eliminating Lupines put them somewhat at odds with the more Sabbat-focused Camarilla but still won them much prestige. Older Kindred of the Ventrue considered them to be poseurs, upjumped commoners, false nobles, and little more than meat for the grinder against their enemies. It even became the point that Viktor's Seneschal Kragen was permanently nicknamed Kraven to the point he stopped correcting them.

Most of the dirty secrets of the Corvinus Bloodline have since been exposed, destroying most of the Bloodline's prestige. Furthermore, there is now a serious debate over whether the diablerist ex-Archon Selene (embraced 8th, now 5th generation due to three acts of diablerie) should be on the Red List due to her association with the abomination Michael Corvinus. Much of the bloodline has also been exterminated due to Civil War as well as the Garou of both the Silver Fangs as well as Bone Gnawers forming an unusual alliance to remove the staine from their (very distantly) shared past.

            Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Fortitude

Weakness: The Corvinus Bloodline actually have a rather severe bloodline curse with relation to Lupines as EVERY member of the Garou race can smell Wyrm taint on them, whether they have the Sense Wyrm Gift or not. They merely have to make a Perception + Awareness roll (Diffficulty 6) when in their presence. Three successes or more will also inform the Garou that the subject is a vampire.

As a result of this relationship with the Garou, most Corvinus carry silver bullets and are armed all the time even among those not embraced for their martial skill. They have also generally avoided using melee weapons like the Brujah and prefer ranged weapons. The Corvinus furthermore have another weakness which is that when they're suppressing frenzy, their eyes take on a startling inhuman blue. This is considered something of a Masquerade breach and is another sign of their Gangrel heritage.

              And BUFFY!

              Aurelius (a.k.a Buffyverse vamps)

Quote: "Fear. It's a wonderful thing. It is the most powerful force in the world."

              Nickname: Dusters, Stake fodder, Fangfaces

Aurelius was a Brujah vampire of the Sabbat on the Path of Evil Revelations in the 1600s who recruited a small number of followers in the sect, including the Nosferatu Heinrich Joseph Nest. They taught a heretical version of Kindred religion which stated that vampires were actually the result of the Baali's Children (known as the Old Ones) sharing their blood with early humanity and creating the Antedeluvians instead of Caine. Aurelius planned to use a combination of Dark Thaumaturgy and rites to awaken the Children and bring about the end of the world by merging it with Hell.

Aurelius performed many Infernalist rituals which resulted in his followers passing on their new unique Bloodline rather than their traditional Clan Weakness. Unfortunately, for the Aurelius, the Sabbat found out about their plans to end the world so they unleashed their proro-Inquisitors upon them. Fortunately, for the Aurelius, while their founder was killed, Heinrich Joseph Nest was able to escape and became the new Master of the Bloodline. Neither the Camarilla or Sabbat suspected the Master's continued existence due to all of his subsequent childer being of the Aurelius bloodline.

Time was not especially kind to the Aurelius, however, as the Master was a potent 7th generation and his immediate childer and grandchilder were strong (Darla, Angelus, Luke, Spike, Druscilla) but the majority of his followers were actually high generation vampires of a less-than-intelligent bent. This became exaggerated when he got himself trapped in a Wyrm tunnel underneath the Nephandus node of Sunnydale High School in California

The bloodline was notably archenemies with the hedge mage organization known as the Watchers which had a religious devotion to the re-birthing avatar of a primordial Imbued known as the Slayer. While relatively small and unimportant by the standards of the World of Darkness, the Watchers nevertheless inflicted many casualties on the Order of Aurelius as well as destroying many Formori, Manifested Banes, Unseelie Fae, and even a pair of true demons (The Mayor, Glorificus).

The Aurelius Bloodline has since been effectively destroyed as of the death of its last religious leader as well as the death or "curing" of its strongest members. They are also prone to many traditional flaws related to crosses, entering homes uninvited, and losing their reflection due to their ancestors' abuse of Dark Thaumaturgy. It has only remained active as long as it has, really, by the sheer amount of causal Embracing and Blood Bonding it does. As an aside, it should be noted Aurelius vampires tended to be extremely high on their Path rating versus Sabbat or Camarilla vampires and were very prone to activity during the daytime. While no more immune to sunlight than other vampires, it made them dangerous in a way others were not.

              Disciplines: Potence, Celerity, Presence

Weakness: Aurelius vampires suffer two extremely nasty flaws which have inhibited their ability to function in modern vampire society. The first of these flaws is that a stake through the heart is immediately fatal to any member of the Bloodline. Indeed, regardless of age, they turn to dust as energy is consumed by the fires of hell within. As staking is a common way of vampires to immobilize others, it means the Aurelius have to avoid the larger sects to avoid being revealed as their forbidden bloodline (or behave--which they're terrible at due to their second flaw).

Their second, even more severe flaw, is one which Aurelius arranged for his childer to suffer from deliberately as he considered it a strength. Upon the Embrace, the Humanity level of all Aurelius is immediately halved with no ability to go above Humanity 5. Aurelius followers are usually subjected to the Vinculum soon after and trained in the Path of Evil Revelations but some awaken to wassail or are born to the Path due to the demonic magic involved. It should be noted, unlike other Bloodline curses, the second weakness is actually a ritual which can be broken with hedge or True Magic. Doing so results in a Derangement, however, followed by a slow process to regaining one's lost Humanity.

It should also be noted that with the death of the Master and Darla, the most powerful remaining members of the bloodline are 9th generation Liam ("Angelus", "Angel"), 10th generation Druscilla (who is trained in Dementation and other Malkavian disciplines), and 11th generation Spike. Of the three, the most likely to embrace are Druscilla and Spike. Druscilla passes down the humanity curse but Spike very possibly does not. As such, the bloodline has the additional disadvantage of being very high in generation. Indeed, many demonically-tainted Thin Bloods were produced in Sunnydale before its destruction.

                    Lilitu

                    Nickname: Bottlevamps, Rednecks, Swampflies, Lilim

Quote: "I want to do bad things to you."

Lilitu are an elder vampire bloodline which has fallen on hard-times in recent years and exists primarily in the American South. The Lilitu trace their lineage back more than two thousand years to the Middle East and many believe them to have originally been part of the Followers of Set. This would go a long way to explaining their general disdain for humanity and their religious devotion (albeit to Lilith rather than Set).

The modern Lilitu show very little of this prestigious lineage, being mostly composed of what many have termed to be "redneck vampires." They possess little in the way of power, wealth, or prestige with even Methuselah living in relative poverty. Part of this is due to the Clan's rather tyrannical structure of tithing where all members of the Bloodline are expected to donate large portions of their resources up to the top of their lineage. These "Kings and Queens" are not recognized by the Camarilla but live in luxury accumulated from those they lord over.

It doesn't help the Lilitu are also looked over by a collection of Archons designed specifically to regulate their behavior (due to the Lilitu' questionable devotion to the Masquerade) called "The Authority." The Authority is corrupt as any other branch of the Camarilla and rather than ending the tithing system, has simply taken a large portion of the King and Queen's revenues for themselves. It, notably, answers directly to the Inner Council and is considered
something of a sinecure position despite the fact the Lilitu are quite dangerous.

The reason for the Lilitu current state of disrepair is due to the fact they have a history of violating the Masquerade as well as believing in apocalypse vampiric myths not unlike the Sabbat. It has been a common, if insane, idea among the clan that vampires are doomed to be revealed to the public anyway so they should attempt to prepare for that day rather than work to postpone it.

They have even funded scientific research using a Japanese branch of the D.N.A corporation to create blood specifically designed to be able to feed a vampire's needs better than animal blood (with mixed but not inconsequential results). The Camarilla's response to their idea was to eliminate the majority of the bloodline's elders, burn their holy books, and essentially banish them to the New World. The Sabbat made an attempt to recruit the Lilians but this failed due to the fundamental difference between the Sword of Caine and Lilian's over religion. The Lilitu maintain they are the true sons and daughters of Lilith as well as God, so want little to do with those who would determine they are mere cursed murderers.

The conflict between the Sanguinistas (orthodox Path of Lilith followers), Mainstreamers (Path of Humanity followers who favor eventual revelation of vampiredom's existence), and the Kings and Queens versus those who wish to live free of such laws has left the bloodline a weak but plentiful one. The majority of its existing members tend to be of 11, 12, and 13th generation with a few elder throwbacks.

Most Lilitu do not possess more than Resources 3 or Status 3, though exceptions exist. They are, however, prone to having very high Herd ratings due to the ease of Lilitu literally able to order artificial blood delivered to their door. The blood is less than appetizing but is perfectly valid for use and something the Lilian intend to make available for all Kindred eventually as a way to buy back their lost status. The Mentor and Ally backgrounds are very common for Lilitu as, in contrast to nearly every other clan, Lilitu tend to have very good relationships with their childer. Other social backgrounds are common due to the rather causal attitude many Lilitus have to the Masquerade.

This has also led to at least one vampire hunting organization (The Fellowship of the Sun--effectively a evangelical Baptist Society of Leopold) specifically targeting the bloodline due to almost all of what it knows being about them. The Fellowship of the Sun is very likely being manipulated by the Camarilla in hopes of thinning the Lilian numbers as well as making them less likely to forward their stupid mainstreaming ideas.

Recent reports indicate a substantial number of the bloodline may have been killed and there was even an attempt to destroy it by the state government. This among other events may constitute one of the worst breaches of the Masquerade in centuries. Jan Pieterzoon is currently working to investigate the event but quite a few would be less than dissatisfied if the American South was free of its Revelations of the Dark Mother-thumping population. Preliminary results are confused but may involve a Kinian bar maid with addictive blood being added to the Red List while others find the idea too ridiculous to contemplate.

Notable members of the Lilian include Warlow (4th generation), Russell Eddgington (5th generation), Godric (6th generation), Eric (7th generation), Pam (8th generation), and Bill Compton (9th generation).

                    Disciplines: Celerity, Dominate, Flight*

Weaknesses: Lilitu suffer from a number of painful weaknesses which render them somewhat less potent than other vampires. The first of these is a stake through the heart is immediately fatal to a Lilian rather than simply immobilizing. It, furthermore, results in them turning to large gooey masses rather than dust.

Next, Lilitu suffer aggravated damage from silver and movement penalties from even touching it. It should be noted that silver does not actually disable them as much as they have been known to act like around mortals. It is not unheard of for Lilians to "play possum" in order to get their enemies to come closer to them.

Finally, in a peculiar weakness, all Lilians actually have a -2 penalty to being dominated by their own sire and will only lose this penalty after being released. Lilitu often spend years before they are released as full-fledged Neonates. Bizarrely, perhaps due to their bloodline founder Warlow's fae blood, Lilitu must make a self-control roll around fairies (difficulty 7) or suffer a hunger frenzy to devour their blood. For every point of fairy blood they consume, however, they will gain a round of immunity to sunlight. This, obviously, does not come up very often in their lives and most Lilitu don't even believe they exist.

                    * The Gargoyle discipline without the deformities.

I envision a typical True Blood six pack as going for $20 and being worth about 1 BP in terms of vitae. Which means that Lilians tend to supplement themselves with the stuff as opposed to actually living off it wholesale. Either that or they go through a lot of bottles a night. Remember to recycle kids. One major advantage True Blood has over human or animal vitae is it takes almost a month to go bad. Kindred can keep thus stocks of it. It's also more appetizing than animal blood, albeit, that's not saying much.

True Blood actually does have the chance to change vampiredom wholesale. At the very least, it'll dramatically cut down on the random murders which are a part and parcel of any Kindred-filled city. Unfortunately, DNA is a subsidiary of the Progenitors. True Blood will undoubtedly be used to track and/or poison vampiredom unless the Camarilla replicates it for themselves or shuts down the Lillian's project.

                          Cullen

                          Nickname: Sparklers

Quote: "Everything about us lures you in."

The Cullen Bloodline is a small group of vegetarian vampires which were created by Carlisle Cullen in the 17th century when he developed abilities above and beyond those of a Ventrue. Carlisle possessed unusual humanity for a vampire and self-control which he has attempted to pass onto his family even as they exist as a Blood Bonded (Vinculum?) pack to one another.

The Cullens use their Animalism to feed from animals in the woods of Seattle, Washington and maintain daylight existences due to their Fortitude and high Humanity (Path?) ratings. They are often up and about with no real danger to their unlives as long as they avoid direct sunlight. Rumors they actually attend high school, however, are completely ridiculous.

While often considered wholly humane, the Cullens may not actually be on the Road of Humanity. They associate with other, less humane, vampires and make no attempts to interfere with their feeding. It is suspected, albeit not confirmed, that Carlisle was captured then turned by the Sabbat decades ago. The fact they were embraced primarily in New York hints at this as well as their pack-dynamic. If so, they are perhaps the only surviving Path of Harmony followers in America. This means they are gregarious and pleasant but see no real moral outrage in other vampires killing to survive, even as they avoid it themselves.

The Cullens, themselves, are Autarkis and actively attempt to avoid other Kindred by hiding in a town far too small for any amount of Kindred to hide in and nearby Uktena Lupine territory. How the Cullens have managed to maintain a treaty with this group of werewolves is anyone's guess but some believe this is due to their leader foreseeing them becoming involved in the destruction of several great threats to the tribe.

Visitors expecting the Cullens to be impoverished or living normal lives in the Pacific Northwest should note they actually have multiple residences, havens, and an expansive stock portfolio. Carlisle Cullen believes wealth will keep his family from wanting to murder as much as ample supplies of animal blood. As such, he's used his Presence and youngest daughter's unique oracular abilities to become as rich as any other Ventrue.

Despite their Autarkis nature, the Cullens have ties to a coterie of high ranking Italian Camarilla Archons which assist them in protecting the Masquerade due to Carlisle Cullen's past with them. These particular vampires, known as the Voturi, are considered fiends and degenerates even by their fellow Elders but still hold a large amount of sway. Some believe the reason for their sympathy may have to do with romantic or practical desire for the usual abilities of some of the Cullen children.

It has been speculated that the Cullens also may have some members, if not all of them, who have a poisonous bite and may have learned Serpentis as an additional discipline (or simply possess a poisonous bite flaw). Others believe their self-control is compromised by their vegetarian diet so they kill anyone they feed on. These might also simply be malicious lies about the Bloodline. Whatever the case, recently, a bizarre series of rumors have begun about the tiny Bloodline and they have been forced to flee the Pacific Northwest.

                          Disicplines: Animalism, Fortitude, Presence

Weakness: In addition to the standard ability of vampires to suffer from Sunlight, the Cullens suffer doubly so as it striking them results in their appearance changing dramatically. No matter, their humanity, they assume the appearance of albino-skinned monstrous predators. Humans who look upon them during this must make a Humanity roll with SUCCESS meaning they are enraged enough to want to form a torch-wielding mob. Failure means they're merely inclined to look upon them as people per their normal beliefs. A Botch means the human gains a derangement where they become obsessed with the vampire as well as their desire to be like them.

It should be noted the Cullen's abstaining from human blood is not done through purely moral matters. As stated, all members of the Cullen family use the Vinculum to enforce an entirely unnatural bond between one another so they are encouraged to treat each other as family. They all follow the same Path and use social conditioning to keep themselves on the straight and narrow. Furthermore, Carlisle uses his Animalism and Presence to calm the Beasts of his children in order to minimize their desire to do harm to others. The Cullen's way of living is wholly unnatural to vampires but is largely effective if your sole goal is to keep you from harming humans by feeding.

The Cullens lives are lived through abstaining, blood bond, and rulership by their pack so they don't have any insights into Golconda or other secrets for being "Friendly Neighborhood Vampires." Indeed, the Cullens tend to believe love is actually an answer for the Beast and attempt to find partners for all of their members. This is perhaps equally unhealthy as it requires the Pack to group and damn others to a lifetime of being unnatural bonds and the lust of the damned.

If the Cullens are Sabbat on the Path of Harmony then they have no friends and must remain Autarkis less they draw the attention of their former sect.

                          ----

                          V:TR version

The Cullens are largely the same except they are now actually a mortal enemy of the Players bloodline as their story got out in the Chronicles of Darkness universe. EVERY SINGLE VAMPIRE IN THE WORLD largely considers them an embarrassment and wishes to destroy them for the actions of their youngest attention-seeking teenage girl member. The Players, alone, however, seem to consider them a personal embarrassment and are united in their desire to kill them.

                          Why?

They represent the dark side of said Bloodline's stupid lust for fame.

                            Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Presence (Fortitude)
Not to be a purist (though I am being so, regardless), but as this was done back in the 90's, the general consensus was that Auspex, *Potence* and Presence reflected Anne's vampires better than the Toreador spread. (And Fortitude was a definite "out" -- most of her vampires only develop a resistance to sunlight over centuries, which reflects in the WoD as the slow progression of an out-of-clan discipline; similarly, Lestat's initial resistance (perhaps Fortitude:1-2, as he was less affected by very low sunlight than Gabrielle or Louis) is similarly reflected by "x" points being spent to get extra starting dots, and his Early Riser merit (compared to most other vampires) is just that -- a merit, and one relatively unique to him, on a "game" level, as it were.) Auspex and Presence are obvious and well indicated in the books; Potence over Celerity is reflected by how they have a penchant for developing physical strength (or the semi-psychokinetic equivalent thereof) more quickly/comparatively than they do speed. (That isn't to say that Celerity isn't a factor in their "vampiric paradigm", so to speak, as obviously it was/is; however, as noted by Baby Jenks in TQotD, among others, a degree of greater physical strength was/is more readily achieved than the blinding speed that the more powerful vampires often demonstrated.) Celerity was/is a natural go-to, thematically, but the wires get crossed due to the thematic differences of metaphysics between the two worlds (Anne's Vampire Chronicles and the WoD) -- in Anne's world, vampires have a *number* of "in-clan" disciplines (that is, *everybody* starts with Auspex, Celerity, Potence and Presence, with the secondary disciplines of Animalism, Dominate, Fortitude, Obfuscate and related combos ("Inter in the Earth" being simulated with Potence:2, Fortitude:1, or some similar working) coming with time and/or natural initial (but still individual) affinity. Even then, some WoD powers don't 'port into Anne's world, and whereas her vampires might typically start with more dots in disciplines (not unlike how, for another example, they do in True Blood or similar shows), they advance more comparatively slowly than WoD vampires do and ultimately have a much narrower range of potential abilities (though, again, balanced by their having a greater potential initial pool to draw from, as well as other metaphysical perks that most WoD vampires don't have). Just saying, having the Auspex/Potence/Presence spread sets them more properly apart from the Toreador as a distinctive bloodline (or clan, if you have Akasha be an Antediluvian, proper, cross-meta-narratively) as well as plays better to Anne's thematics (though, again, adjusted slightly to adapt to WoD metaphysics).

Makes sense. (Though, as an added note, their sense of "beauty" is often abstract as much as it is physical; while they *do* have a penchant for embracing the attractive -- though, as written, the blood tends to "perfect" those it transforms, both initially and over time, so that is something to also keep in mind -- they also are attracted to personality and strength of character, as well, which is something many of them discern more acutely because of their [Auspex] preternatural perceptions (so it might be better to note that they are attracted to anyone with *any* social attribute of 4+, with the more 4+s equaling a greater draw/appeal). Just a suggestion...

Some have speculated this means the Akashans weren't originally Toreador but Cappadochians but most Kindred find the idea ridiculous as they seem to embody the Clan.
Again, depending on how much you are properly drawing from the source material, the change in Anne's *caucasian* vampires is often this, but not so dramatically as to be a proper weakness initially (even a fringe one). Their pallor is "a thing", true, but during the initial decades and centuries of their undead existence, it is often muted after they feed -- they look flushed/alive after having fed sufficiently in a given evening, and merely looking "striking" to mortals as opposed to unnaturally "alive". (Only as the centuries pass do their complexions become "unpassable"; even for Lestat, who was passable after two centuries as a vampire, it only became an issue after Akasha fed him great draughts of her blood to empower/further transform him, after which he needed to use more directly is telepathic abilities (Obfuscate, in this case) to cloud others' perceptions of him or more mundanely use make-up to hide his marble-like visage. Second, but also important relative to the source material, non-white vampires didn't become pale/alabaster as time went on, but more subtly golden with still-dark skin (this where, although Akasha was caucasian in the books, the movie QotD got it right when they had Aliyah made-up with gold-dust as part of her make-up -- if Akasha had been of negroid racial stock, then that is exactly how she would have looked, relatively speaking. Again, just me being a purist for translating the source material...

This is not an actual weakness-weakness but an expression of the late Akasha's Combination Discipline of Quietus 9/Presence 9. Any damage done to Akasha is inflicted upon all members of her bloodline as soakable or aggravated damage. The funny thing is, you don't even have to go that far justification-wise (Quietus:9/Presence:9). It is simpler (and, ironically, more in-sync with the Caine mythology) to simply have Akasha's lineage be that tightly bound to her/her spiritual replacement. Cut of the head of the snake, and he body (lineage) dies, as the old saying goes. (Not to say your take on that is flawed in terms of applied WoD metaphysics -- it's quite fine -- but rather that this is a case where the simpler answer is actually the more likely to be best.

                            *****

The list back in the day was, as said, Auspex/Potence/Presence for disciplines, and a weakness of either Slow Healing (which actually *does* reflect better Anne's vampires' weakness -- they generally *don't* heal with the comparative speed that WoD vampires do, cross-comparatively, *especially* aggravated damage, which can take them a very long time to recover/heal from... barring the metaphysical stipulation of drinking another vampire's blood, and even then not necessarily someone of "more potent" vintage, as Lestat noted that when he was badly hurt after Claudia turning on him, even Gabrielle's blood would have hastened his recovery except that "she was nowhere to be found" -- coupled with Deep Sleeper (while some basic defensive action might be made reflexively -- such as when Gabrielle killed a mortal who found her when she was asleep... though had no memory of having done so, save that when she woke his neck was still in her grasp, and he was hours-dead -- they generally are even deeper sleepers than many WoD vampires are) or, as you already went with, a general variation of the Toreador weakness.

But again, that's just a blast-from-the-past from the old forum back in the 90's.
