  • How idyllic a family life does the rite of apology grant?

one rite with virtually no cost can cleanse any resentment a family has for each other.

had to wonder how perfect it makes a family.

Well, considering everyone has to consent to it for it to work, and it doesn't have any inherent supernatural backing, it's only as "perfect" as the family already is.

That is, it is paradoxically more useful the less use a Kin family has for it.

In an already fairly troubled family, getting the feuding Kin to perform the Rite is going to take either some serious work, or some serious intervention from someone (like the Garou) who can step in and force the issue.

The better the family already is at working out its problems, the more this Rite becomes more symbolic and therapeutic. It's a way to purge negative feelings after the fact, not a way to stop them from happening again in the future.
