  • What do Fomori look like?

    Just out of curiosity.

However you want them to look, basically. Most might be gruesome mutants with different sized arms and legs. Take a look at what fomor powers they have and extrapolate. A fomor with the Strength +5 power is a bulky mess of muscles. While a fomor with "wyrms eyes" might look perfectly normal, exept for that monstrous eyes. Not all have to be terribly alien or anything. A fomor that looks kind of like a normal human can be an exeptionally difficult target, because he can always have some people around him and doesn't have to hide from society.

The vast majority of them are fairly monstrous in appearance, usually tied to their powers. That's why ferectoi are dangerous.

Some of them are quite blatant in their inhumanity: bloated fungi sprouting from the back, tentacles, overpumped muscles... then again some others aren't quite so visible. A serpent-like tongue or is easy to conceal, after all, and even a ventral mouth doesn't show up much under a sweater. Some of them are even created to act as serial killers in modern horror (snuff) movies and they still keep their human appearance.

The aspect mostly depends on what they're used for, since a lot of them are created to fulfill a specific role by Pentex.

Whatever you need them to look like. They can look completely human with either subtle powers or the ability to transform, or as varying degrees of monstrosities as befits their concept and powers. In which case they either need powers to hide, or invoke some kind of Delerium themselves.

Some of them can look like The Fly, while others can look like Patrick Bateman(of American Psycho). Up to you.

Is 'umbral passage' the best way to let a gorehound sneak undetected into a house, or other powers that work just as well?

There are many ways to work offscreen teleportation, and that is indeed one, at least against humans. Garou and Fera tend to be a bit more wise to it, and can at least peak to know that Not Jason is lurking around and where.

One way you can make this more scary for Garou is to have the Gorehound playing hide and seek during the day. Helios does not shine in the umbra like Luna, and daytime in the spirit world is hazy and dark. Very low-visibility. If the Gorehound is skulking around an abandoned warehouse or dark neck of the woods, while slipping between realities to elude or ambush the Garou, things could get a lot... hairier.

Any other Tactics for Not Jason?

Best would be to bend the rules a bit and let them buy the gift "Open Seal"

I don't think it's bending. Fomori with the "gifted" power can learn gifts and BSDs can learn Open Seal.

it says from the homid, ahroun and bsd list... but wait? open seals on the BSD list? (double checking) nope not there.

its bending a little but makes him much creepier a killer

I in a werewolf game I ran a bit (that sadly broke down before this plot arc went anywhere) did a cop who was closed to compromising the veil die, by a "biting bullet" imagine how creepy that looks to mundane forensics?

on sons of Typhon, whys it not just give them the gifted power with the gift Persuasion?

instead they have a unique power "as the gift persuasion"

Monsters and enemies can have whatever power you want them to have. The game has always created new Fomori powers whenever they wanted. Don't adhere too closely to what is in the W20 corebook or even all the books out there. As an ST, use whatever you need in order to create the kind of opponent you want. The Fomori powers listed there are simply a compilation of the most often used powers for the standard Fomori in older Werewolf books. You are not "doing it wrong" by making changes.
