  • Creating a wraith deliberately

    Hi! I have this idea.

I want to take a perfectly good (dead) Tzimisce vampire and turn him into a wraith. Yes, I know he loses is disciplines. The idea is to bind him to a ring, where he acts as a mentor, advisor or more deviously someone who wants to find a way to take a new body for himself and rise again as a cainite. But I digress.

How would I make sure this vampire rises as a wraith after he is destroyed? And how would I bind him to something? I can see how this mirrors to some degree the reliquary of the Earthbound.

Unique Plot based Necromancy. Or Spirit 5, entropy 4ish? Rip out soul. Destroy body. Bind soul to ring.

Or the old-fashioned way of making sure that he dies unfulfilled in significant fashion. Thwart a goal a few times, make it personal. Make sure that he wants to haunt someone or something instead of just letting the chips fall where they may.

And your target has high Willpower. Or else you just made a Drone.

Can still fail, and won't do the whole binding to a ring and he won't be able to steal bodies.

OP mentioned Vampire, so they might not be using Mage.

But it's always the easiest way to get something done that can't be done by any normal means. So, barring it's exclusion, it's the parsimonious answer. Just get a mage with the right set of Spheres and, though it might not be easy, it would be doable.
