Haight as a sword would seem like a great idea until you picked it up, it took control of you, hollowed out your Passions and made itself your only Fetter, ate your Shadow so it could have a way to mainline pumping pure black Angst into your Corpus, then sent you off to Stygia to kill and absorb the Deathlords to ready your symbiotic team to take on the Malfeans in a bid to rule the Labyrinth.

And no, that's not out of line with Sam. At all.

Stormbringer, as in the sword of Elric of Melnibone from the series about that character by Michael Moorcock. "Blood and Souls for my Lord Arioch" Stormbringer. Stormbringer the original big back soul-eating sword.

If it wasn't for a wraiths lack of biological function he would have made a great urinal or toilet.

could have smelted him into some kind of artifact, as fanataticism and ambition have to be good for SOMETHING...

Not really, then he would have kept popping up when clearly everyone wanted him permanently gone. Gone as in no way to come back ever....

I assume his Wyrm-taint would read as being a borderline Spectre already when he hit the underworld. Soul forging in his case was a rushed preventative measure.

Of course the Doylist real reason was the massive power stacking had made the originally cool character (back when he was a Skindancer only) very controversial, and this was a way to wink-nod close the book on him forever.

Why should they have let a petty thing like not actually being able to pass waste stop them? Soulforge it as a joke for if any of the quick ever stop by. It may never happen, but if it does even once, the hierarchy would likely find it hilarious for centuries after.

It's probably not easy to get anything to smoke, either. That makes an ashtray less useful than a doorstop.

Could have made him into a Blackjack card a "1" Saying he isnt that important... that would bruise his ego.

True but it's small and insignificant. Just like Old Sammy Ashtray.

Homo sapiens. What an inventive, invincible species. It's only a few million years since they crawled up out of the mud and learned to walk. Puny, defenceless bipeds. They've survived flood, famine and plague. They've survived cosmic wars and holocausts. And now, here they are, out among the stars, waiting to begin a new life. Ready to outsit eternity. They're indomitable. Indomitable.

Exactly my point.... small, insignificant and ultimately almost completely useless....

Except for the very relevant fact that tiny increment of the universe will not be lost to Oblivion.

Theoretically, you could make Pathos-infused cigarettes. They have Pathos-infused food on the Orient Express.

From all those cigarette butts that people REALLY cared about?

I think "almost as rare as hen's eggs" would describe "real" Relic tobacco. Of course, there's always Moliate....
