  • 2ed edition immortals thansfer

    Sorry for bad spelling
So how do immortals work in 2ed edition

  • #2
    They don't die.

Flippancy aside, the only fleshed out mechanical treatment is for the blood bathers, who pretty much work just like they did in first edition.

Dark eras companion. One of the Mummy eras.

Malkydel: "And the Machine dictated; let there be adequate illumination."
Yossarian: "And lo, it was optimal."

Anything that's not in a 2nd edition book would need to be converted, possibly by you. I'm not familiar with Immortals but if you have a specific question about how to handle something in CroD I'm sure someone here can help you.

People have done conversions before on here. Try searching. Otherwise, the changes aren't that complicated. Not much was outright incompatible.

Oh, I converted Blood Bathers as a Merit Template:

                  Blood Bather (● to ●●●●●)
Requirements: Occult 2 or Occult 1 with Blood Bathing as a specialty
You have discovered a ritual that allows you to bathe in blood to remain immortal.
Benefits: You can choose Blood Bather Merits, with a total amount up to your Occult + dots in this Merit.
Drawbacks: Your ritual has its own built-in requirements that make them more difficult to enact reliably. Choose one of the following limitations, or make up your own. You must perform this ritual at least once per year. If you fail to do so, you gain the Deprived condition until you perform the ritual and lose any benefits from your Blood Bather merits. At the Storyteller's discretion, you can take additional limitations in exchange for an increased cap on Blood Bather merits, one extra dot per extra limitation.
                  • Seasonal Restriction: The ritual can only be performed at a specific time of year (winter, the lunar new year, the week of the vernal equinox, etc.).
                  • Lunar Phase: The ritual only functions at a specific lunar phase (new moon and full moon are common).
                  • Specific Target: You can only work the ritual if you bathe in the blood of a specific group (virgins, those of supernatural beings, French people, etc.).
                  • Extreme Volume: You need an especially large amount to bathe in, more than a single person could provide, even if they were bled dry. You need to fully submerge yourself in blood, rather than just coating your skin with it, to perform your ritual.
                  • Stringent Quality Control: You require especially pure blood, or blood with exotic or expensive additives. Perhaps your victims need to partake of a specific drug, or you need to add an alchemical treatment, or you can only bathe in pure blood, with no other fluids or contaminants.
                  • Pomp and Circumstance: There's a lot of ceremony and ritual involved in your blood bathing. You need at least an hour to prepare immediately before the ritual, and another hour to actually perform the ritual, on top of any other preparations you have to make.
                  • Fading: In the weeks leading up to the next time you need to perform the Ritual, your benefits slowly fade, and you become weak and enervated. For 1 week per Blood Bather Dot, you lose access to one Blood Bather Merit each week (provided losing access to the Merit wouldn't kill you on its own), and a suffer -2 (non-cumulative) penalty to one of your physical Attributes, until you undergo the ritual again.
                  • Short Duration: Your ritual only lasts a month before you have to enact it again, rather than the normal year.

                  Merits
                  Sanguine Immortality (Blood Bather, ●)
                  Requirements: Blood Bather ●
Your Blood bathing offers you immortality. As long as you continue to perform your ritual, you cannot die. You still age and suffer injury, and if your body is destroyed, you can't come back. If you are in a position where you would die (advanced age, mortal wounds, etc.), and lose the benefits of your Blood Bather merits, you die. You also still die if your damage track is filled with Lethal or aggravated damage.

                  Dark Potency (Blood Bather, ●●●)
                  Requirements: Blood Bather ●+, Immunity
The dark force of your ritual even holds against the assault of other supernatural forces. You consider your dots Blood Bather as a Supernatural Tolerance where applicable (e.g. Vampiric Disciplines, Begotten Nightmares, etc.). This does not grant you any other supernatural capacities, and merely acts to bolster your resistance to supernatural forms of attack,.

                  Immunity (Blood Bather, ●●)
                  Requirements: Blood Bather ●
You have learned to purify yourself with the blood you bathe in, and have thus become immune to poison. You no longer suffer the effects of the Poisoned or Sickened Tilt, nor do you suffer damage from Toxicity or the effects of disease.

                  Physical Intensity (Blood Bather, ●●)
                  Requirements: Blood Bather ●●
Your body is invigorated by the blood, allowing you to tap into unknown reserves of strength. By spending a point of Willpower, you can use Physical Intensity, as a Vampire, adding two dice to any Strength, Dexterity or Stamina-based roll for a turn.

Inhuman Potential (Blood Bather, ● to ●●●●●)
Requirements: Blood Bather rating equal to or greater than desired Inhuman Potential rating
Your ritual allows you to surpass the limits of human beings. Your Attribute limits are increased by your rating in this merit. If you lose the benefits of your Blood Bather merits, your attributes above 5 are suppressed, not lost, until you regain the benefits (or quire other means of surpassing mortal limits)

Sanguine Healing (Blood Bather, ● or ●●●)
                  Requirements: Blood Bather ●●
Your body is suffused with the life force you've taken through blood, and can knit itself together with astounding speed. At *, you heal damage at twice the normal rate. At ***, you heal all bashing damage within 30 minutes, one Lethal damage per 15 minutes, and 1 Aggravated damage per day.

                  Unkillable (Blood Bather, ●●●)
Requirements: Sanguine Immortality, Sanguine Healing ●, Blood Bather ●
You are nearly impossible to kill. As long as your health track has not filled with Aggravated Damage and you have access to the benefits of your Blood Bather Merits, you can return from death. You heal 1 point of Aggravated Damage per hour after returning to life. If you lose access to your Blood Bather merits while in a state that would normally kill you, including advanced age, you stay dead.

                  Eternal Youth (Blood Bather, ●●)
                  Requirements: Sanguine Healing ●
It turns out blood is a fantastic moisturizer. Your ritual keeps you looking young and youthful. It makes the elderly look like they did in their prime, and keeps children eternally young. If you lose access to your Blood Bather merits, you immediately age to your actual age. For especially ancient Blood Bathers, this is a death sentence.

                  Other Merits:
                  • Many Blood Bathers acquire some supernatural affinity for blood. They can purchase Telekinesis and Psychometry, limited to Blood only, as a Blood Bather merit, gaining a Beat each time they gain a dot, and treating it as a Blood Bather Merit in regards to maintaining access.
                  • Other Supernatural Merits: Blood Bathers sometimes develop supernatural power above and beyond the normal effects of the ritual. Common ones include Biokinesis, Numbing Touch, Telepathy and Unseen Sense (Blood Magic). These Merits can be bought as Blood Bather merits. If you do so, you get a Beat for each Dot you take, but you lose access to their benefits when you lose access to your other Blood Bather Merits.
                  • Striking Looks: Blood Bathers can take the Two-Dot version of this merit as one dot. They lose access to its benefits when they lose access to their Blood Bather merits.
                  • Mystery Cult Initiation: Many Blood Bathers are part of some kind of cult, and often share a standardized ritual. You can take Mystery Cult initiation, with certain levels of membership providing specific Blood Bather merits as benefits.
                  • Physical Merits: Many Physical Merits can be benefits of the Blood Bathing ritual. You can buy such Merits specifically as Blood Bather Merits, gaining a Beat for each dot you take this way, but you lose the benefits of them as you lose the benefits of Blood Bather merits.
                  • Tolerance for Biology: This is a valuable merit for Blood Bathers, simply because of what they do.
                  • Barfly, Fast-Talking, Pusher, Sympathetic, etc.: Any merit that makes procuring people to bleed is invaluable.
                  • Safe Place: If your ritual is time-consuming or requires a lot of space, then having a Safe Place is extremely useful.

                  Comparing Notes
Blood Bathers are extremely jealous in how they guard their secrets. While some might be willing to share their knowledge with a cult or a promising apprentice, they usually would rather kill or die than turn over their knowledge. Often, a Blood Bather won't even know the variety of powers that can come from Blood bathing. If they can learn from a tutor (or extract their secrets in other ways), they can learn new ways to improve their own rituals.

Genius: the Transgression 2E is a thing that's being worked on.

Is there a particular part of the book you're looking to use? Converting the entire thing might be a tall order.

The Fall of Isireion in the Dark Eras Companion has blood bathers and body thieves. That leaves Purified and the odd collection of random immortals.
