  • Think of fictional characters and say what they would be in CofD

As the title says. You may include an explanation behind your choice and some stats if you want. It does not have to be a perfect match.

Ghost Rider (Marvel Comics): a Sin-Eater. His Threshold is Torn and his Archetype is Reaper all the way. He has Rage 5, Shroud 5 and Hearse 5. He has the Pyre-Flame and Industrial Keys. He has a Memento motorcycle. He has a Reaper Merit that gives him +1 on attacks for each 2 points of Morality stat the target has below 7. He has a Flaw that only lets him use his powers when innocent blood is spilled, and once that happens, it's hard for him to stop. He can't harm anyone who he perceives as innocent (usually someone with Morality stat at 8 and higher, or who fulfills their Virtue often). Psyche is 7. Strength, Dexterity, Presence, Firearms, Weaponry and Drive are all at 5 or more. The Penance Stare is a quick Ceremony that requires a grapple and the target to be truly wicked. Its dice pool is Psyche + Presence vs Composure + Powerstat and it temporarily removes all willpower points, the ability to regain willpower and inflicts the Broken Condition.

The Doctor (Doctor Who): either a True Fae or a Genius. If he is the former, he is a Fairest (Telluric/Oracle/Artist). If he is the later, he is a Staunen and a member of the Navigators. Explanation for the former can be found here: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showt...-is-a-True-Fae.

Aang (Avatar: The Last Air Bender): a Mage. While his powers would suggest aptitude for Forces and thus the Obrimos Path, his connection with major Fate related events and his carefree personality suggest Acanthus. He would be a member of the Adamantine Arrow. If you are using Papa Bear's homebrew 25 Paths, Aang is a Magi (http://forum.theonyxpath.com/forum/m...1818#post41818).

Finn (Adventure Time): a Changeling. He would be a Fairest and his kiths would be Apollonian/Soldier (the Apollonian kith can be found here: http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Changeling_H...ths#Apollonian). The Land Of Ooo was where he spent his Durance, and his Court is Summer. He does have Court Goodwill with Autumn due to his fearlessness, as well as his penchant for investigating mysteries and uncovering secrets.

The Joker (DC Comics): a Slasher, natch. His Undertaking is Maniac. Alternatively, he is a Changeling or even a True Fae that really likes spreading chaos on the Ironside. His Seeming is Darkling and his Kiths are Razorhand/Moonborn/Lurker. If he is a True Fae, his Titles would be himself (Actor), a special gun (Prop) and a group of ogrish thugs (Wisp). Either way, his Morality stat is zero or absent altogether. I suggest using my reworked version of the Lurker kith: http://forum.theonyxpath.com/forum/m...431#post349431

I always thought of The Doctor as an Acanthus.

Or for an alternate take he could be a Keeper and the companions are changelings.

If he is an Acanthus, he'd need to be an Archmaster of Time to actually time travel, or have a really badass Artifact from Supernal Arcadia to imitate the TARDIS. He would also have the Vital Balance rote from Grimmoire Of Grimmoires (page 33) to extend his lifespan. If he is still a member of an Order, it would probably be Free Council or Adamantine Arrow. Throw in some dots in the Matter, Mind and Prime Arcana to represent his affinity for creating/dealing with machinery, artificial intelligences and magic items. The Sonic Screwdriver would be both an Imbued and Enhanced Item rather than an Artifact, since non Mages can use it.

EDIT: is there a Legacy of time travellers dedicated to protecting the stability of Time? That would be cool, and the Doctor could be a member.

EDIT 2: maybe he could have summoned and made a pact with a very powerful entity from the Supernal Arcadia or The Primal Wild to get his regeneration powers.

The Initiative from Buffy always made me think of Task Force Valkyrie meets the Cherion Group, and Adam was obviously a Promethean. That whole show was just one of those kitchen sink crossover games where the ST goes way overboard throwing as much as possible in from every line, with more than a healthy dose of homebrew to keep the players guessing.

After reading "Immortals", I agree, but how would you explain his TARDIS, Sonic Screwdriver and other items/abilities? Would the TARDIS and the Sonic Screwdriver be those objects that gain supernatural qualities for unexplainable/mysterious reasons that appear the God Machine book? I forget their name, I think they're called Leftovers or Castaways.

EDIT: sorry, I was thinking of Bygones. They are in page 243 of the God Machine book.

Kratos (God Of War): probably way too Exalted-like to fit, but maybe he could be an Astral personification of Indignation Against The Divine, or a Mage that was trapped in the Astral Realms and turned into such a personification. Maybe he was an changeling of the Ogre Seeming who reached Wyrd 10 and decided that it was time to bring the fight to the Gentry by harnessing their powers. If he is a True Fae, his Titles would be himself (Actor), the Blades Of Exile (Prop) and the Head Of Medusa (Prop), while the other items are Tokens or Hedgespun. If you want to play as a character in a more mythical NWoD that simply has Kratos' powers, a Thyrsus or Mastigos Mage can work. His Blades Of Exile would be a Pandemonium Artifact with the Ranged Blow spell (Space 3), Mind spells for subduing lesser/median life forms and a Forces spell for ignoring gravity while climbing. Put dots in Life and Matter for physical prowess, super endurance, regeneration and improving/breaking objects. Also put dots in Forces, Death and Prime for imitating his magical abilities from the games.

They could be Bygones, or they could be Relics from Reliquary, or they could just be uniquely supernatural items, since we're not really limited in nWoD.

Spider-Man (Marvel Comics): either a Changeling Beast or Klagen Genius. Yes, I gave him 3 kiths at Wyrd 7 instead of Wyrd 9.

If he is a changeling, he has these stats:

                      Name: Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
                      Virtue: Charity/Justice
                      Vice: Wrath
                      Concept: Genius Superhero

                      Seeming: Beast
                      Kith: Skitterskulk/Cyclopean/Inventor
                      Court: Summer

Mental Attributes: Intelligence 4, Wits 6, Resolve 4
Physical Attributes: Strength 6, Dexterity 4, Stamina 5
Social Attributes: Presence 4, Manipulation 3, Composure 3

Mental Skills: Academics 3, Crafts (Hedgespinning) 3, Computer 3, Medicine 3, Occult 2, Politics 2, Investigation 3, Science (Genetics) 4

Social Skills: Animal Ken 1, Empathy 3, Expression (Jokes) 4, Intimidation 3, Persuasion (Wisecracking) 3, Streetwise 2, Subterfuge (Protect Identity) 4

Merits: Virtuous, Ambidextrous, Inspiring, Encyclopedic Knowledge, Area Of Expertise (Genetics, Hedgespinning), Resources 1, Disarm, Quick Draw, Mantle (Summer) 4, Allies 2/Status 1/Contacts (Daily Bugle), Striking Looks +1, Perfect Stillness, Danger Sense, Direction Sense, Iron Stamina 3, Fleet Of Foot 3, Fast Reflexes 2, Hedge Gate Sense, Charmed Life, Faerie Healing, Hedge Duelist 5, Harvest (Emotions 5, Pledges 5), Hollow 8 (Size 2, Amenities 3, Doors 1, Garden 2), Archive 4 (Summer Court History, True Fae, Tokens, Hobgoblins), Workshop 2 (Machines 2), Brownie's Boon, Token 5 (Web Shooters), Hedgespun Raiment 5 (Athletics +2, Initiative +3), Token Maker 5*

*The target number of successes is decreased to 15 per token dot, but requires Wyrd 6. Also, Spider-Man rolls Wyrd + Science + Workshop bonus (17 dice total) instead of Wyrd + Crafts when building tokens, as long as the token is scientific and/or technological in nature. Lastly, he automatically rerolls the failed dice on each roll without spending glamour, as per the Wyrd 7 bonus for the Inventor kith.

                      Health: 10
                      Willpower: 7

                      Clarity: 8

                      Maximum Glamour/Per Turn: 20/7
Frailties: must not harm those he perceives as innocent (minor taboo), must make a wisecrack when he thinks something is silly or absurd (minor taboo)

If he is a Genius, he has the same stats as the changeling version, but with the following changes:

                      Catalyst: Klagen
                      Foundation: Navigators
                      Inspiration: 7
                      Max Mania/Per Turn: 40/7

                      Construction: Crafts
                      Requires: Epikrato 2, Katastrofi 3, Skafoi 2
                      Bound Mania: 6
                      Size: 1
Roll: For attacking and immobilizing, use Dexterity + Athletics + 4 (Bashing, 8 Again). For pulling objects and doing meat puppetry, use Wits + Athletics + 3. For swinging around, use Wits + Athletics + 3.

The Slender Man: he shows up in woods, his mind is alien to us, shows up using different forms in the stories of different cultures spanning wide temporal gaps, he kidnaps people (often children) and has strange powers. Sounds like a True Fae to me. He would have the following stats:

Virtue and Vice: See below, under Fae Aspects
                        Concept: Mysterious Boogey Man

                        Seeming: Darkling
                        Kith: Mirrorskin

Mental Attributes: Intelligence 5, Wits 4, Resolve 4
Physical Attributes: Strength 4, Dexterity 3, Stamina 4
Social Attributes: Presence 6, Manipulation 4, Composure 5

If you are using Second Edition rules: Power 7, Finesse 8, Resistance 6

                        Mental Skills: Academics 2, Computer 1, Crafts 1, Investigation 3, Medicine 1, Occult 3, Science 1
Physical Skills: Athletics (Using Tentacles) 3, Brawl (Claws, Tentacles) 3, Larceny 3, Stealth (Forests) 6, Survival (Hedge) 2
Social Skills: Animal Ken 1, Empathy (Children) 1, Expression 1, Intimidation (Appearing Out Of Nowhere) 5, Persuasion 3, Streetwise 1, Subterfuge 4

Merits: Encyclopedic Knowledge, Eidetic Memory, Disarm (done via tentacles and with Brawl instead of Weaponry), Danger Sense, Direction Sense, Ambidextrous, Fast Reflexes 2, Iron Stamina 3, Harvest (Emotions 5, Dreams 5), Dream Combat 5, Rigid Mask 2, Heavy Weapons (Tentacles) 5, Lethal Mien, Charmed Life

                        Health: 11 (Size 7)
                        Willpower: 9
                        Defense: 4 (7 if you're using GMC)
                        Initiative Mod: 10
                        Speed: 13 (Species Factor 6)
                        Wyrd: 8

Contracts: Forge 5, Mirror 6, Smoke 5, Darkness 6, Moon 6, Illusion 5, Stone 3, Vainglory 3, Control The Elements (Fire) 4, Dream 4, Wild 2, Fleeting Autumn 1, Goblin (Fair Entrance, Fool's Gold, Delayed Harm, The Blessing Of Forgetfulness, Mirror Mirror, Diviner's Madness)

                        Maximum Glamour/per Turn: 30/8

Frailties: cannot activate Contracts or Slender Walk while within someone's direct line of sight (major taboo), cannot speak (major taboo), must frighten anyone who catches him on a picture or video (minor taboo), if meeting a child he wants to kidnap, must present himself as friendly (minor taboo)

Mien Blessings: The Mercurial Visage (Mirrorskin), Spurious Stature (Gargantuan), Fade Into The Foliage (Woodblood)

                        Fae Aspects:

Immortal Flesh: True Fae are fantastic beings made of the fabric of dreams and madness. When manifested in the mortal world, they can shrug off the attempts of the mundane to damage them, and even the most destructive of harms will not be as severe to them. Any physical damage that does not come from Cold Iron will deal only bashing to the True Fae. Certain supernatural sources of damage can deal lethal to the Gentry, but only Hand-Forged Iron will deliver aggravated damage. Additionally, they are not affected by Combat Tilts unless they were caused by cold iron, hand-forged iron, or supernatural powers. Their flesh is also immune to natural infirmities. They do suffer wound penalties, but they can't be knocked unconscious by Bashing damage.

Alien Mind: Slender Man regains one point of Willpower during every scene in which he stalks and/or frightens someone. He regains all Willpower points when his actions drive someone mad (using Contracts does not count). He also regains one willpower point every time midnight strikes.

Tentacles: spend 2 Glamour + 1 Willpower point. Gain +2 automatic lethal damage to Brawl, +2 to Defense, +2 to Athletics and +2 to initiate/maintain a grapple. May carry twice as much weight. Once per turn, he may attack with his claws and then spend 1 glamour to also attack with tentacles. Mundane Stealth rolls are halved round down and can't be boosted with willpower. May end this effect at will.

Sickness Aura: remaining within a varying radius of the Slender Man for more than a period decided by the ST requires a reflexive Stamina + Resolve roll. If the roll fails, you take one lethal damage immediately, plus one bashing damage every following day unless you receive medical attention. Other symptoms may include coughing with blood, fever, hallucinations and compulsive behavior. This aura also makes electronic equipment malfunction according to the ST.

Slender Walking: the Slender Man may reflexively teleport to any location within Wyrd x 25 yards by spending 1 glamour and rolling Wyrd + Stealth. To teleport toward a victim he can't perceive, he must spend 2 Glamour and sense the target’s fear by rolling Investigation + Wyrd vs Resolve + Composure + equipment (maximum distance is determined by the ST). If the victim gets as many successes as Slender Man or more, he cannot Slender Walk toward that person for a period decided by the ST. Doing research on the Slender Man or thinking too much about him imposes penalties on this roll. If using either type of teleportation for a surprise attack, a -1 penalty is imposed to Perception rolls to detect him, and an Exceptional Success increases the penalty to -3.

Titles: Slender Man (Actor), Garden Of Shadows (Realm) and Master Proxies (Wisp)

The Mask/Big Head: someone wearing a Fae Title in Prop form. The Prop belongs to a True Fae with Wyrd 9 who can see what people are doing with it (and loves it). Treat someone who is wearing the Mask as a True Fae Actor, with all the powers and weaknesses that come with that, such as spending glamour to heal wounds, dream warping and invoking new Contract clauses dynamically (you are encouraged to use new clauses of Forge to represent most of the cartoonish powers). You can create Hedgespun items, unlike other True Fae. The Computer, Expression and Empathy Skills do not suffer limitations, and your creativity is unaffected. This Prop only works during the night. The Contracts Of Music can be found on Kismet's World Of Darkness.

Apply the following characteristics, which overwrite supernatural templates as long as the Mask is being worn. The "built in" Hedgespun items, Seeming and Mien Blessings may vary.
