I enjoyed it. Due to a lack of capitalization or other punctuation, I did need to read carefully when the books or movies were mentioned, just so my brain reconsiged them as titles and not part of a sentence.

I am a little concerned about the Backmasking rite...where is the drawback? The bit where you can't just spam these out forever and NEVER need to feed/hunt again?

Rites* don't solve problems, just let you exchange one for another.

*Well, Obcasus rites aren't supposed to anyway.
