  • Hey, I actually worked on something for the Gameplayer Kith that I thought I'd share. I would appreciate criticism or feedback to help tweak it here and there possibly.

    • Do a Beast's natural weapons qualify as archaic for Elemental Weapon? (F. e. can a hellhound Changeling "use Fire Fang"?)

      • I'd say no; they're more akin to natural weapons. Elemental Weapon is for crafted weapons, such as swords, bows and bludgeons.

You could always house rule that as the contract's seeming benefit for beasts.

          • Hey guys, seen a lot of great stuff for Kith Conversions and Homebrew Kiths in here and wanted to get some opinions on one a player and I have been working on. The idea is basically a voice changeling. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...oiceChangeling)

Echo (name subject to change, but looking for something that mimics sound perfectly.)
Skill blessing: When using expression to mimic others voices or accents, the Changeling achieves an exceptional success on 3 successes instead of 5
Trickery blessing: Here is where we were having trouble. The player suggested having the above with a glamour cost but without a contested roll, which I really didn't like. Might be possible to do similar to the suggested Chirurgeon blessing in the original post and add Wyrd to mimicry rolls. I feel like that's where I'm headed, but didn't know if anyone else had any ideas.

            • Cool idea! I suggest "Lyrebird" as name - they mimic natural and artifical sounds perfectly from other birds to car alarms and chainsaws.

              • Muattles Funny enough, I had a similar idea for a Kith known as a Beatheart (Heartbeat). The Trickery, which I was tentatively calling "Singing Outside The Box" (Beatboxing) was where they could spend a glamour, roll Presence + Expression, and if they were successful they could perfectly mimic any sound they have heard before. Even if the voice, noise or tone was outside of human range, the Changeling can achieve it, though they may require a specialty in a particular instrument in order to hit all the right notes without a roll.

The idea was for a Chageling of the Paint Court, who possessed a contract that allows a Changeling to basically make a copy of themselves, and thus with this Kith blessing she could beatbox an entire song by herself. If you want mechanics, I'd recommend looking at the Vox embed from Demon: The Descent (it is in Flowers Of Hell). Just remember, Wyrd rarely factors into 2e Kiths save for if it is inflicting a condition on another person. Hope this helped some.

If I were to make a kith like this, I would probably make their skill trick work for mimicking any sound they’ve heard previously, rather than only voices. Their Trickery would allow them to spend Glamour to make their voice seem to emanate from any place they wish, provided it is within their line of sight. For the name, I would call them Echosongs. And now I want to write them up. I’m not going to do so (at least not any time soon), as I have other things I need to write, but I do want to do so.

                  • Brazilian Kiths

                    Boitatá
Among the Brazilian Changelings, the Boitatá is remembered for his powerful presence and passion. Boitatá is a giant snake with fiery eyes, they love staying in the water but once they are outside, their body is infused with a blue flame. It is always defending fiercely the forests and woods from hunters. It is said that looking at the Boitatá eyes can make you mad and blind. Others sayd that it eats eyes when it is angry. Or that it is the soul of evil people, burning everything in its path.
KIth blessing: Boitatá gains half its Wyrd rating for Perception rolls and gains the unseen sense merit.

                    Iara
Iara is an indigenous woman who lives in the Amazon river, seducing her victims, bringing them to the river, then drowning and devouring them, just like the Greek sirens. The Iara is described as having long green or black hair. Some people say that if a man scapes the Iara's enchantments he will become crazy and only an indigenous shaman (known as Pajé in Brazil) will cure him.
KIth blessing: Iara gains its Wyrd rating for a Seduction roll. But after a succesful roll she must gain glamour from her victim or the victim will gain a derangement.

                    Curupira
The Curupira is a protector of the forests. He uses a wild boar as a mount. He has red hair and his feet is turned backwards. When he walks, his footprints confuses people tracking him since they are pointing to the opposite side. He is very aggressive towards hunters. People say a Curupira can change a hunter into an animal and make it become hunted as some sort of vengeance.Kith Kith Blessing: People tracking you have a penalty equal to your Wyrd in order to pursue or chase you. You also gain an Animal Ken specialisation.

                    Saci-Pererê
Often described as a black child wearing a red hood, having only one leg, and always smoking a pipe. It is the Brazilian Pooka, described often as a mischievious. The Saci-Pererê can turn himself into a whirlwind. He is a free spirit, always joyful and looking for fun. He has holes in his hands.
Kith Blessing: You gain half your Wyrd in rolls to gain glamour if you used treachery to generate emotion.

                    Mula-sem-Cabeça
People say that if a woman seduces a priest, she will become a mula-sem-cabeça, a mule without a head. That mule doesn't have a head and fire is spread out of its nostrils even if said nostrils is in a non-existent head.
Kith Blessing: Seduction rolls to gain glamour has the 8 again rule. If you make a succesful roll the victim forgets your appearance and facial features. Damage from fire is reduced by your Wyrd level.

                    • Hello all, could I get thoughts/ suggestions on this kith idea for a game I am running soon?
                      Phooka:
Kith Blessing: When the Phooka uses persuasion to convince someone of a course of action, achieving three successes counts as an exceptional success.
Bringer of fair and foul fortunes: Once per scene, the Phooka may spend one glamour and make a wits + subterfuge roll to curse or bless any individual she has a pledge, promise or deal with (add or subtract one die from their next action for each point of the Phooka's Wyrd -to a maximum of +/- 5).

I’ll need to give some thought to the trickery aspect. The skill trick you’ve given them seems a bit general to me, though. What is the niche you’ve got in mind for them? The description of the kith could help here.

Yeah, quite honestly, that description could easily fit any use of the Persuasion skill

Yes, you are both right.... how about this: "When the Phooka uses persuasion to offer counsel, achieving three successes counts as an exceptional success."? I am mostly basing this Kith off of its namesake, 'Phookas' as mischievous (though sometimes helpful) guides and advisers.

As for the Trickery, right now I feel as though it s A) possibly overpowered and B) not terribly unique. Any thoughts/ suggestions to help with that would be much appreciated.

                            • Modern Kiths

True Fae are always being influenced by human culture. From myths to folklore to fairy tales. Nowadays comic books, movies, series, animations and videogames are carrying the storetelling sources of ancient times. But stories are also spreading through urban legends and internet myths...

Slenderman: You have been turned into a faceless pale creature with elongated arms wearing a suit. Now you stalk the forests and spread fear in order to make teenagers avoid your Keeper hunting ground.
Kith Blessing: You can make a grapple attack from a distance of Wyrd yards from your victim. A grappled victim can also give you a bonus glamour equal to half your Wyrd value. You can't attack people who are carrying at least 10 sheets of paper.

Bloody Mary: A monster who can be summoned by unwary people. Repeat your name three times in front of a mirror in the dark and you will come. You did this once and your Keeper came for you. Now you are back to the right side of the mirror trying to maintain your clarity, but you look like an undead woman filled with blood and shards of glass.
Kith Blessing: Giving your true name to someone make you summonable by then. All they need is to cry your name three times in front of a mirror in a dark place. You feel a calling force permeating you from the moment the first time your name is ushered in this condition. At the third time you are immediately transported to your summoner. You are also compelled to take glamour from your caller (or you can try to resist a Will roll) and you gain bonus glamour equal to your Wyrd if you make a succesful glamour roll. Many Bloody Marys try to make their True Name infamous on creepy internet circles in order to gain a consistent source of glamour.

Creepypasta: You played the wrong videogame. Your Keeper jumped from your gameboy screen and captured you. Slaved in a mad parody of a Pokemon world, you did his bidding until a glitch gave you a mean to scape his realm. Now you stalk videogames in order to scare unwary teenagers.
Kith Blessing: You can step into a videogame in order to haunt its player. You enter a videogame from your dreams, making a Computer + Wyrd roll to find gateways from your dream to a videogame being played at the moment. Once on the desired videogame setting you can subtly change it by using dreamscaping methods. The experience the player has from that game will generate glamour for you, with a bonus equal to your Wyrd. Very scary experiences can be a breaking point for the player.
Alternate kith: Deepweb. The Deepweb has the same scaring method of the creepypasta but it attacks people using deepweb navigators instead of videogame players.

Trollface: You were captured by a troll. A digital one. He was a bully, the biggest one you have ever seen. He hurt you emotionally by being the insensible jerk it is. You eventually became a monster just like him, a human with a large pale face with a mockery of a grin, trollface.
Kith Blessing: You can gain glamour by posting on internet forums and social medias. You must roll Manipulation + Empathy + Wyrd. On a Success, you also gain bonus glamour equal to your Wyrd. You can only do this once per game session. On a dramatic failure you are banned from the forum/site you used. You can't have access even if you create a new fake avatar.
Alternate kith: Faker. You gain glamour on social medias but by spreading fake news.
Alternate kith: Memer. You gain glamour on social medias but by spreading memes. You also look like a meme, most probably a cat.

                              • These are 1e Kiths. This thread is for the more powerful 2e kiths, which are standardized like this.

Skill Trick: a way of using a certain Skill or Skills which the character is supernaturally good at, giving them an exceptional success on three successes instead of five.

Trickery: an overtly supernatural trick that costs a single Glamour per use. Should relate to the same overall concept, but generally not provide an advantage for the same action the skill trick covers.
