What changeling doesn't want a shiny Hollow kitted out with oddments a-jangle, a personal secret garden where one can while away the hours sipping kraken ink martinis and playing games on the Dreamcast 2? I've come up with a few homebrew enhancements for a more personalized or exotic Hollows. Feel free to add your own as well.
Hibernation Cocoon (•): Within the Hollow rests a chrome, ovoid device filled with a translucent cyan liquid, or maybe just a comfy bed with well-tucked sheets. Any character who sleeps in the Cocoon adds Hollow's dot rating to their Bastion Fortification, keeping their dreams safe from potential fae predators.
Tranquility Room (••): A portion of the Hollow takes the form of a prayer room, an inviting corner packed with soft pillows in soothing colors, or a sun-dappled glade where small birds and peaceful deer linger. Once per chapter, a changeling may spend an hour in the Tranquility Room in meditation, rolling Resolve + Composure. On a success, he heals a point of minor Clarity damage; on an exceptional success, he instead heals a point of severe Clarity damage.
Cagey (••): While most Hollows are made to keep intruders out, a few are designed as well to keep prisoners in. Whenever a character who is not the owner of a Hollow with this enhancement attempts Portaling of any kind while within, they must first succeed on a Clash of Wills against the Hollow itself (roll the Hollow's total Merit dot rating for its dice pool). An owner of the Hollow may grant exceptional permission to anyone she chooses to bypass this effect, either universally or for a specific instance of it, and she may revoke this permission at will as well, though she must be physically present inside the Hollow to do so.
Hob Attendant (• - •••••): The Hollow is looked after by a hobgoblin servant, either one formed from the Glamour of the Hedge, or perhaps a Market-lurking mercenary who saw a good opportunity. The hobgoblin is pledge-bound to the Hollow, and cannot range far beyond its vicinity, but will keep the place tidy and perform other tasks pertaining to its particular nature. Design the attendant as a Retainer with a dot rating equal to the dots in this enhancement; in addition, the hobgoblin has a Wyrd equal to the enhancement's dot rating, with all the Contracts and Dread Powers that entails. So long as the Attendant is dutiful in its service, the Wyrd will provide the hobgoblin with this enhancement's dot rating in Glamour each week. Maintaining the presence of the Hob Attendant requires the changeling to accept a point of Goblin Debt at the beginning of each story.
Lucky Charm (•• or •••): The Hollow contains a strange icon, wondrous piece of treasure, or bizarre sculpture that brings a scrap of good fortune in certain domains. Choose a Skill; the Lucky Charm provides the 9-again quality on rolls that use the Skill within the Hollow at two dots, and the 8-again quality at three dots.
