  • Honest question, not a complaint

What was the reasoning for giving ogres the shield Regalia? Was it because Elementals already got the Sword, or just to emphasize the burlyness of Ogres (which I dont get because all the other seemings have regalia in contracts that emphasize how they escaped or what they represent)

Not so much "burly" as "callous," in addition to making for a nice sideways approach to their original purpose a la Cacophony Embeds and Destroyers in Demon - the Gargoyles use the same umbrella pactwork that allowed their Keepers to make them stalwart and heartless to also be a source of security and vigor for not their Keepers.

The Torrents were kept around for the raw forces they could bring to bear, distributed as they were, but Ogres were made to bear the burden of personal injury in the giving and the taking.

Ahh ok, thanks for the answer! The comparison to the cacophony embeds for Destoyer demons was also a good comparison. Just wondering, would it be more appropriate that next time I have question like this that it goes to the "ask a simple question get a simple answer" thread?

I want to add something else onto Satchel's excellent response: Because of the way that the Beaten Down Tilt works, Ogres stand out when pitted against much tougher foes, whom they can then (temporarily) floor with a single punch. Note, also, that their Blessing costs Glamour unless they are enacting violence on behalf of another, thus acting as a metaphorical shield.
