Recently talking to a friend got me to want to flesh out the personality of my True Fae so they aren't just one dimensional characters. The book does a good job of telling the Storyteller to make sure True Fae have aspirations outside of just tracking down the Changelings.
So I thought having a list of True Fae aspirations/motivations that might be helpful for people starting out. Here are a couple that came up.
So I thought having a list of True Fae aspirations/motivations that might be helpful for people starting out. Here are a couple that came up.
- Become Famous: This True Fae wish to have followers like in the olden days . Instead of worshipers the True Fae is looking to reach mortals through social media. In doing so this True Fae will gain the Title of "Influencer".
- Unwanted Rivalry: This True Fae has a rivalry with another True Fae. Both have territory that is getting closer and closer to one another within the Hedge. While both parties have tried to keep their distance the Wyrd has been pushing them closer and closer, conflict is almost assured. Both are interested in keeping this conflict from happening and will gladly give a Lost a spare weeks if they can help delay the war.
- Hostile Divorce: Though it is not heard of, this True Fae couple were once a powerful duo. They managed to keep their relationship afloat for eons and inspire many stories of "true love". Recently they have broken up over a petty squabble; but each is looking to get back at the other. Many a changeling has staved off their capture by promising to strike a blow against their ex-lover.
- Become a Real Person: The True Fae is enamored by humanity so much so that they actually wish they could become human or spend a day in the life as a normal person. Such a thing is next to impossible especially with how the True Fae are weakened in the mortal world. A Changeling who makes a deal to be a tour guide to the True Fae may gain a great boon. Though remember the True Fae are used to getting everything they want, and the human world is not equipped for that type of being.
- Create a Multimedia Franchise: Many wish to have immortality through their work, but True Fae already have true immortality. This one has been letting its "toys" be the characters in its story, with itself being the protagonist. If only the True Fae was a good writer, but its written something. Now its just needs to manipulate mortals into making it popular.
- The Drunkards Wager: This True Fae made a pledge while under the influence of a potent narcotic to the True Fae. And they have forgotten what it was they pledged and to who. Not wanting to get backlash from the Wyrd they are scouring the Hedge for information about what the Pledge was. The twist the Pledge included a clause that the True Fae would forget the nature of the Pledge, and the Notary who the Pledge was written on was "Exiled" to the mortal world.
