You don't buy the Merit as well if you make it yourself.

It costs a dot of Synergy because a Memento functionally does or outdoes most of what a dot of Synergy does as far as Haunts are concerned.

    • Two questions that came to mind while swimming in the pool:

      1. Can you resolve Flatlining by purchasing a dot of Synergy with (normal) Experiences?

      2. Are the Ceremonies in Memento Mori only accessible to their associated Krewe Archetypes?

"Gain a dot of Synergy" isn't one of the Resolution criteria, so no.

        • When in the Underworld all Ghosts are Manifested right?...Are Bound Geists also manifested or is it just that variant of the twilight image thing they do in general and the geist is still tied to your body? Of course this is discounting unleashings.

As Satchel said it's not a Resolution, but conditions can end without Resolving.

Really good question, sadly the corebook isn't really clear about this. I woud like for the geists to be manifested and tangible just like the ghosts.

My bad, I was too lazy to check the corebook.

Do you mean Sin Eaters or the Geists themselves that they have? Because I don’t remember Geists having their own Willpower.

Bound geists share Willpower with their Sin-Eater. As for Sin-Eaters, per the FAQ in the Player's Guide to the Contagion Chronicle:

As described in the Chronicles of Darkness Rulebook, humans regain Willpower when they get a good night’s rest, and so do most monsters.

Not everyone does, though. Complicating that, not every core book says whether a monster does or not, nor draws the line clearly between a given monster type and humans.

The general rule is: “Is sleeping truly restful for this creature? Does it help connect them to themself and affirm their identity, or does it erode it?” Even a sleep filled with nightmares can be inherently fulfilling, allowing a character to see their fears clearly in a way they can’t in the waking world.

When a sin-eater meet a tryant boud, do you think he can feel the tyranny?

I don't think it's a universal sense, but you can probably tell from observing the way a Bound treats their Geist.

                            • Hello everyone, I'm going to join a geist game soon and the corebook so far seems pretty straigthforward compared to the other splats, the only things I don't get is what a geist rank effectively does in game terms and what does it mean when it says that the geist treat its key as influence, does it add a dice bonus or something?

A Bound geist's Sin-Eater treats their effective Rank as the lower of their geist's Rank and their Synergy, which allows them to treat their touch as a bane against a ghost they outrank by at least 2 Ranks; an Unleashed geist is treated as having Influences in any innate Keys it knows with ratings equal to its Rank, allowing it to Strengthen, Manipulate, and Control instances of those forms of death at the bare minimum, with more powerful geists being able to Create or Mass Create those phenomena as well, as per the rules for ghosts on pages 190-191.
