  • Psychic domination a bit overpowered?

For 2 dots in Mind, is psychic domination a bit too powerful, should it be maybe 4 dots instead?

No, it shouldn't, it has to contend with Withstand and requires significant Reach to be at its most deadly. Also using it can constitute an Act of Hubris in pretty much any circumstance. Inuring it causes it to always risk Paradox. It's essentially a carrot with a not insignificant chunk of stick attached to it. Other Arcana can achieve similar results at 2 dots, for instance you could order someone to kill themselves with Life 2 as well, and then there's all the ephemeral entities that can be manipulated with Ruling as well.

Nope, dot rating isn't a measure of the power of a spell, but is based off of which Practice falls where. So yes, Psychic Domination is a damn powerful spell, but regardless of its power it's still just a Ruling spell, and thus 2 dots.

If you feel it's too powerful, you can either use the rule that powerful narrative effects demand appropiate Potency (it's from Creative Thaumaturgy), or you can use different Withstand stat - something like "number of Doors that would be required to Social Manuever the target into doing the action".
        I use combination of both.

Y'know, you could just use a Mind Veiling spell to make it so no-one notices you lining a gun up with their forehead.

Really, there's no shortage of speedy ways to kill someone. A part of the point of Mage is that you can kill someone and expect to get away with it.
