  • Ulgan without Ephemeral Flesh

Has anybody experimented with this? While Ulgan are very much defined by their ability to see and interact with spirits, at character creation their Bestowment is but one of two options (the other being a less flashy bonus on a Finesse attributes). I'm curious to know what kind of character an Ulgan would be if they couldn't see spirits - which even the Ulgan write-up says is a thing they cannot avoid.

Worth noting that all aspects of Ephemeral Flesh are an activated effect and the 1e "just turn on your Bestowment and you recoup the cost along with your normal gains" method of regenerating Pyros is no longer an explicit element of the Lineage (and the list of viable circumstances has been expanded to include something an Ulgan with the right expertise could actually throw together in, say, a Hovel).

Ulgans with Twilight Fluidity, lacking the cheaper ability of Ephemeral Flesh, are likely to calcify the Vitreous Humor Alembic from their time practicing Cuprum or Argentum, rely on Refinement Furnaces that provide those Distillations, or make use of more particular rituals and trinkets alongside their mundane deftness of hand, eye, or tongue. They're more liable to be specialists with kits than ghost-grabbing generalists.
