  • Are players of PCs getting along with their creators "doing it wrong?"

It seems universally assumed you will be estranged from your creator, whether he is a promethean or not (its "How did you split with your creator" not "Did you split with your creator?). On the other hand, much of the suffering prometheans undergo stems from loneliness and disquiet.

Is there anything particularly wrong with prometheans making and thronging up with their creations?

Yeah, with a human creator, if the creator is staying with the PC and being friendly, the ST is probably not paying attention to Disquiet. As for Promethean creators, part of being human is eventually letting your children find their own ways through the world. So, while a creator might stay and teach their "child" the basics of life as a Promethean, they can't helicopter parent them forever.

Prometheans are on a journey of experiences. Their creators are going to - generally - be on a very different step of the journey. Sticking with your creator is most likely going to lead to stagnation and stalling on your own journey. A human creator is walking such a different path you can't really experience things as fully as you'd need, and a Promethean creator is doing things to building on a ton of experiences you don't have yet, so you can't really grasp the full meaning of.
The other issue with human creators is that they're usually not immune to Disquiet; so having them as traveling companions isn't good for their sanity.

The 'Alone' section on Pg. 78 of the 2e core indicates that it's very unlikely.

No matter how amicable the relationship, the fresh Promethean needs to set out to learn life for themselves, not follow their creator on their creator's path.

This, of course, also means that you're setting up Prometheans in a group to all be of similar age/experience/starting at the same level so you set up traditional group game play; by encouraging them to travel with others equal in their level of progress to increase what they might learn from the world by sharing the road at roughly the same pace.

No problem at all. Just keep in mind that if your creator is a Promethean, he or she is still trying to find their way even as you try to find yours.
