  • [2E] WtA Tribe as WtF Lodge – Get of Fenris + Eiwaz Mot

Two related groups, coming from the Get of Fenris Apocalypse Tribe, translated as 2E Forsaken Lodges. Bon Appetit, Werewolf fans! [ Both groups are based of Get of Fenris Tribe write up from W20 corebook and Eiwaz are based also on their 1E write-up in Blasphemies WtF book. ]

    Get of Fenris
    Destroyers, Úlfhéðnar, Vargr

Get are strongest and most loyal children of Fenris-Ur. They come from Norse culture that worshiped Destroyer as most terrifying of monsters and embrace his story. In myths Fenris is biggest threat of which rest of Norse gods are afraid. But the truth is that it’s Jotunns from deep Shadow Realm, Hive-Claimed in their Ice Fortress, that were truly trebling on thought. They chained him on the deep, cold North – but even now Fenris-Ur is calling to his children, for their strengths and sacrifices of weak. Legends say he will be free in times of Ragnarok, leading us on the final battle with Giants. Till this day, we need to prepare this great war.

To the Get, compassion is a luxury, not a virtue — the greatest virtues are valor and strength. Get want the fittest to rule - and the fittest are them, of course. When in Scandinavia old people tell to their youngsters the tales of monsters in human skin - they tell about Fenris and his Get. Mortals should remembered their place, but not be killed - kin must not forget why they feared wolves. Humanity is family, even when it needs to be pointed who is biggest dog in the pack. When Ragnarok will come, the fittest will be atop, Get will rise and eat old gods - making place for their Wolf Father.

Lodge have very strong roots in their Wolf-Blooded families. Get’s have their origins in Europe, where they once living inside Germanic tribes and Nordic raiders. Yet even the most brutal and violent sagas of the regions pale before the lore of the Get. Their Cathalith (or skalds) joyously recount grim tales of bloody death against impossible odds, of the eternal glory to be found on the battlefield. They have told stories of Ragnarok, for millennia — and they are ready for it.

Blood alone doesn’t make a Get of Fenris. A cub could have the finest Wolf-Blooded genealogy, but if he can’t make it through the bloody tribal Rite of Passage, he’s of no use to the Get. Some cubs don’t even survive that first test. Harsh as it is, the Rite of Passage reflects the grim and fatalistic nature of life among the Get. The battles against the Jotunn will be no gentler,— and the Fenrir never run from battle. Every child of Fenris-Ur, no matter his or her auspice, must be ready to die gloriously for the Mother of Wolves.

To make matters worse, many Get of Fenris embrace very elitist attitudes not just to strength and valor, but even to sex and ethnicity. This has been a source of internal conflict within group for centuries. Although modern
Get are less prone to outright racism and sexism, the old prejudices against weakness run deep and take many forms. These haven’t done the lodge reputation among the rest of the Uratha any favors. Get’s obsession with Ragnarok few times now burned rest of reputation – they twice called World Wars the ‘Ragnarok of modern times’, and twice world did not ended. Still, they look over for next Ragnarok to come and their armies to be unleashed.

Of course, most Gets are Blood Talons, with their devotion to the Fenris-Ur and strength in battle. They sacrifice weak for their Father, making him stronger and preparing his armies for the greatest threats to come. And what is the greatest disgrace for Fenris than weak werewolf? Surprisingly, many Gets comes also from Storm Lords - Lodges philosophy of cutting the weak reason with Lords take on not showing it in first place. In old times of Vikings, it was Get that make sure those that broke law by showing weakness, were taken out of the herd - both by Blood Talons jaws and Storm Lords claws.

Even if philosophy could reason with Dire Wolf and it’s Predatory Kings children, Get of Fenris is proud to turn them down, following Sköll of Fenris-Ur brood – so Pure come for the Eiwaz Mot for stay. Even if Destroyers want to scare humanity and make sure that fittest will lead, it wants it also to flourish, cause other way there will be not any humanity to scare in first place. At least till the time of Ragnarok.

    Totem: Sköll
Destroyers are following Sköll, son of the Fenris himself, that day till night and night till day is chasing Mani ( Moon ) and Sól ( Sun ), at least in Norse myths. In reality, Sköll is most persistence and loyal of Fenris children - to this way, he day and night looks for weakness in whole Uratha society, cutting weak and afraid from it’s pack, to prepare for final battle in Ragnarok where gods will need to be defeated when it’s father will howl for it. As one of Vargr, he assumes image of monstrous wolf that towers even over Urshuls of werewolves.

Sköll want’s his Lodge to remember people why they were afraid of wolves. To be fieriest, loyal and dedicated. Ready for each howl of Fenris. And to show that Children of Fenris are true power to be reckoned with.

Lodges sacred duty and mixing of Tribes under Sköll probably lead to popular claim that he was symbol of Storm Lords in Forsaken society in times of Vikings.

    Bonds
Blessing: A Lodge member adds 5 dices rather than 3 when spending Willpower to augment attack roll against ‘weak’. What is ‘weak’ is decided like in lodge Sacred Hunt benefit.

Aspiration: To curl any weakness in adherent pack.

Ban: A Lodge member cannot let anyone to call into question his valor.

    The Sacred Hunt
The Lodge Sacred Hunt grants your character the ability to track prey that shown signs of weakness in last lunar month. ‘Weakness’ is defined as extreme Harmony imbalance ( Harmony 10-9 or 1-2 ), trait or Condition marking prey ‘weak’ in the eyes of Get. While the prey is in his eyesight, adherent can upgrade damage that is inflicted to prey one category up in marking her shown as weak - or to grant Condition marking prey’s lower status.

This ability lead to Lodges hunting on outlaws being called Ergi in Viking society (see Dark Eras chapter The Wolf and The Raven ), very often definition of dishonor in Norse culture in Viking times. In modern times, most Lodge members know that culture changed and weakness comes from other stands than sexuality or gender roles. Still, there are some old and hardened in cult that do not see this differences. In both eras, this “looking for weakness” made Get’s reputation of often shattering alliance with rest of Tribes of Moon.

    Eiwaz
“Hate the weak, help your brothers, fuck the rest.”

When you were human, you were called a thug, idiot, junkie, uneducated scum. Some of you realized that what you were experiencing was racism. And you, correctly, grasped that this is the way of the universe: animal versus animal, lion versus wildebeest — a fundamental law of existence — us against them.

Then Mother of Wolves called out to you and your godlike strength, your place in the universe was revealed.
You were Changed and brought into the People. You now knew that you were no longer white or black,
Jew or Christian, Nazi or nigger. You are the monster, the lord of spirit and flesh, top of the food chain, the alpha predator, one born to hunt, to rule.

Yet, still blinded by the human sack that contains us, most of the People would have you deny your greatness. This is wrong. If you haven’t begun to suspect it, and I know most you have, there is something you need to know, flat out. There are traitors among the People, traitors called Forsaken.

Will you be their dupes? Will you betray your true race? Or will you serve it? Let me tell you how…

Too put it frankly – Eiwaz are Uratha supremist group. They believe that because they are werewolves, they are apex of food chain and just being part of this race makes you greater than any other. They are outside of human law. And they can be right.

Lodge have hard Nordic roots, encompassing Norse mythology and believes, points in them that wolves are there venerate as greatest predators and human-wolves would be the greatest of them. Some even rumor that Eiwaz are parallel or splint off Get of Fenris – but their following Noble Wolf seems to put them against any Forsaken patron. Most, if not all of adherents, comes from Predator Kings fold and their patron Dire Wolf is pleased with their actions.

Lodge is known from it’s twofold recruitment efforts. The first and most overt is for rank-and-file members.
But unlike many lodges, the Eiwaz Mot actively recruits. They nurture contacts in various criminal gangs and racist organizations, looking for prospective members within these subcultures who might show signs of the Change. These groups also help the mot in their various criminal enterprises.

The key to the mot is not racism, which is merely one of their tools — a blunt one at that. The leadership takes advantage of the low self-esteem and ignorance that its members had in their human lives, coupled with their new need to belong to a pack. Channeling the anger of newly Changed Uratha taken from these circumstances is relatively easy. After all, all Uratha have to face a new reality; this is theirs.

Full initiation involves hunting and killing an enemy of the Eiwaz Mot and tearing out its throat in front of his mentors. The victim is chosen carefully, then kidnapped and taken to a secluded area for the hunt. How or if the human is truly an enemy is unknown, and asking questions is a sign of disloyalty.

Once the kill has been made, the initiate is bound so that even shapeshifting will not free him. Then, lodgemates ritually beat him within an inch of his life. Once he awakens, he is then told that this beating is the last
unanswered blow he will ever take again. From now on, he is part of the chosen race, and each stain or bruise will be answered tenfold by his lodge brethren or him.

    Totem: Noble Wolf
Many say that Noble Wolf is lost child of Silver Wolf. If it’s a truth, now it’s looked like much more adapted by the Dire Wolf. Noble Wolf want to be treated as true Wolf Spirits loyalty. Someone even says he want’s to be treated like Firstborn, even if he clearly is of later generations. This Totem teach his children that they are nothing less than other Uratha – and even they are best of their own race.
