  • Technokinesis, Spaceships & VARGS?

    Hello all, I was just wondering if I am missing anything but it seems as if someone with Technokinesis 2 or 3, is going to be a nightmare for any enemy in either a space ship or a VARG? With 2 dots they can just begin hacking another ship with a good chance to do something such as vent all the atmosphere, while with the 3rd dot you can do things even more extreme such as making it fire on their allies or just explode depending on the power system?

    Oh and all of this is at the range of most weapon systems, hell in space due to the range band adjustments you could seize control over a space fighter and have it begin doing strafing runs on its own carrier?

    True. That is what it is supposed to do indeed. A telepath can’t do the same but taking control of the pilot himself. If you put a Clair in the network, they can do the same at an interstellar range.

    Just to point a few thing, a bio VARG or a bio comp will be naturally resistant to it. Also, it’s not a trivial thing and the crew can hold or try to recover control of the ship, so it’s not an automatic success or persistent effect.

      The electrokinetic can certainly try. They’ll have intrusion resistance and vehicle Size Scale to contend with, which will increase Difficulty. Critical systems such as life support are likely to be protected by the hardest intrusion resistance on even small civilian ships, and all ship systems are likely to have an at least moderately negative Attitude towards network connections.

      No. The fact that the rules specify space ships are treated as characters for the purpose of space combat, and that they treat range bands as much longer distances, doesn’t mean that this applies to individuals within the space ship. Your ship’s guns may fire hundreds of kilometers, doesn’t mean that your electrokinetic gets this boost just because she’s in space.
