Ok so I drafted it out, here are the relevant survival charms involved, assuming survival supernal and Essence 3:
Beast-Mastering Behavior, Bestial Traits Technique, Ambush Predator Style, Hide-Hardening Practice x3, Life of the Aurochs x3, Saga Beast Virtue, Deadly Predator Method, Colossal Rampaging Beast, Baara Unleashing Technique.
These are 13 charms, plus seven prerequisites that are unusable here for a total of 20 charms: a reasonable investment for a Solar to have in their Supernal ability by Essence 3.

With all of these active, the Tyrant Lizard's statblock looks...

Depends, with or without Familiar Honing Instruction? With, Octavian is most likely paste, without... also still likely paste. The big hurdle is that the Tyrant Lizard is immune to decisive damage until it is crashed, and it can only be crashed by 10+ post soak damage which I don't see Octavian being capable of producing. I think Fakharu would be a more appropriate opponent....

Wait, why didn't Octavian do anything after landing that grapple? He could have put that guy through a wall but instead he just gave himself a -2 to defense for no reason. Not saying it would have changed the final result but he kinda threw the fight right there.

You didn't mention it but I assume all the pcs had some Ox-Bodies -- 16 decisive dice from the throw plus a medium range fall (4 levels and 7 dice) would have definitely killed pc2 with one Ox-Body, very likely with 2 Ox Bodies, and about 1/3 chances with 3 Ox-Bodies. If Octavian had thrown him at pc1 who was already injured...

  • Using Void circle necromancy to resurrect a dead horse 5 years after its death sounds like a perfectly irresponsible use of cosmic power.

  • That might possibly probably maybe have something to do with the fact that the book isn't out yet.

Yeah I feel that. I felt like it should have a reset condition but couldn't think of any that was thematic, so I went through the book and copied one that appears a couple of times, I think in Brawl and Occult and some other. But yeah those trees both have ways to expend your anima while Awareness doesn't. If anyone can think of a more fitting reset condition, I'd love to hear it.

It does a few things: firstly, there are ways to cheese stealth to become completely undetectable (easiest one is Invisible Statue Spirit + Sound and Scent Banishing Attitude). There are also...

started a topic Solar Awareness as a combat ability

Solar Awareness as a combat ability

I've always felt a little disappointed with the Solar Awareness charm tree. The Unsurpassed Sense Discipline charms are awesome, but everything else felt kinda meh, and for such an important ability it has one of the smallest trees (second smallest behind Investigation I think?). It also felt weird to me as a Dawn Caste ability since outside of maybe Awakening Eye there are no combat-specific effects anywhere in the tree. This feeling was reinforced after seeing the Perception - Senses tree in the new Lunar book -- that tree has a bunch of fun things, not just better join battle, but also stuff...

  • Double and Triple Attack Technique has always been dogshit, I've been saying so since the corebook leaks, but people kept telling me "you're just a minmaxer, It's not that bad, you're just a hater". I don't know why people are acting surprised all of a sudden.

  • Oh. OH. Really weird that they would do that. Valkhawsen seems really fucking good: Empty-Mind is excellency-able, bankable, difficulty 0, lasts the whole story and can be renewed every day. It even gives you flexibility regarding which ability you want to use for the roll. Talismanic Focus, on the other hand, is basically +3 non-charm successes to every shape sorcery roll always and for basically no cost. So for both the "get my one big spell ASAP" and "Brilliant Raptor Machinegun" flavours of sorcerer it's the Valkhawsen Way or the highway. Plus the Enlightened Contemplation...

"Easily Overlooked Presence Method but my friends can come too" is an ok effect for essence 3 I guess, but I'm still not sure if it's worth 10m1w. Plus if you're gonna write "this effect but AoE" then you might as well just make the original a prerequisite. Evocations with Charm prerequisites are a thing for a reason. You should also probably include a range for the effect or something.

I still would never ever use On Silent Wings, much less spend a turn on activating it. It turns itself off when you attack (why?) so it's useless for combat (outside maybe turtling...

These Evocations are definitely way too weak. Your capstone is worse than an essence 1 dragon-blooded charm with no prerequisites that does the same thing for only a fifth of the cost....

Distract sucks ass unless you've got charms that key off of it. The only time I've seen an unenhanced vanilla distract was when the fight was basically won already and the player with the high initiative wanted to hand the finishing blow to another player for flavour reasons.
