  • I for one would find that very interesting, independent of any drama here in the Lost forums! It's always fascinating to get the behind the scenes look....

That makes me so happy to hear! I loved the playtest of Dreams and it made so much sense for glamour from mortal dreams to trickle into the hedge and feed it, and for hobs and critters to be born out of those dreams. I've been very anxious that all my favorite parts would just be scrapped. I'm sure what you're doing is going to be good, but it's a question of Awesome Thing In Hand versus the Unknown Element....

I agree with the assessment that it's exceptionally vague in where the Hedge stands now. I assume we still get hollows and all the fruit and 1ed goodness. Do we still get Dreams connected to the Hedge?...

  • Bulwarks used to define things, but we have no idea whether or not it'll be replaced by anything more than vague guidelines yet since court creation isn't going to be a priority anymore. I hope we see the new creation rules soon, and that they're specific enough to be an actual viable option....

  • Are they going to include the contacts for Toronto that we haven't seen yet though? Or is it going to be relegated to "make it up yourselves" the way ask the 1ed alternate court contracts were?...

  • Saying stuff from the early drafts is still 'allowed' is a little disingenuous I think. It's not like you as writers can force anyone to do anything once we have the book in hand. If something isn't supported, then it's not going to be used. If this new version of court creation isn't viable, it's not going to be used. If setting creation is just jotting down a few themes and supernatural mysteries to explore then everyone's going to be shoehorned into the Seasonal courts again and you might as well skip customized freeholds entirely. 1ed had some really cool alternate court ideas but no one ever...

  • It would be helpful to get a sidebar that discusses common systems across the world. The Seasonals are probably a pretty Anglo-/Euro- centric freehold style, exported across the world with Imperialism in general. While Scheherazade's 1001 Nights could be a pretty common style of freehold in many parts of the Middle East. Are the Rose Courts of Dark Eras London still ruling? Did their system spread? Modernize? The Seelie Courts are mentioned in DE and Toronto, let's see them! Where is their primary territory these days? Directionals rule China, has that spread to most of Asia with Honshu and a...

In the Toronto setting the leader of the freehold is the Scheherazade and styled Sultana no matter what their actual gender!...

This is a big relief to me. I really liked the playtest style of having the seeming affinity perks and I'm glad the rewrite didn't change that completely. The new organization style seems really cool from what you're saying here and I'm looking forward to seeing an updated Contracts section spoiled at some point? Is there going to be a change to XP costs for contracts or still 1xp/dot?...

It looks interesting. I am wondering how this fits in with what we've seen so far, or if they really did scrap everything and start from scratch....

I'm not really assuaged. The Mage game just seems to shoehorn the entire WoD/ChronD universe into being mage- centric while at the same time saying "oh well mArcadia and cArcadia are definitely two different things." If they're different, great, but have them be different. Stop letting the Fate mages stomp all over Changelings by controlling or changing their Oaths, or making Gates to the real world directly from the deep hedge gates of Arcadia. cArcadia and the Hedge could instead be its own thing, not a mage style realm neatly tucked in a little box that they can control on a whim,...

Freaking mages. I really dislike how 2ed is "mages do everything better than everyone else." There's powerful and then there's just... broken. The crossover book may have seriously unfun issues with mages involved.
