If any Exalt type is going to embrace the parade of new people into and out of their life, I can see Lunars appreciating the novelty aspect best.

replied to [+] What house rules do you use?
I limit Craft to 6 Abilities - if you buy that much, you're a master craftsman, nuff said. Specifically Weapons, Armor, Structures, Jewelry, Food, and Essence (Corresponding to Fire/Water/Earth/Air/Wood - and Essence).

I give 2 bonus silver xp as a separate role bonus for any crafter that remembers to craft something, even if they fail all the criteria and/or the project. This is in addition to the regular bonuses (At least in my Celestial game. It hasn't come up for the Dragon-Blooded)....

replied to Dragon-blooded Charm vs Solar Charms
I agree that Solars being able to get sky-high successes is their coolness. Winning is the theme, after all.

My Dragon-Blooded game has the players using Dragon-Blooded Charms quite a bit, and I get the impression they like the flavor of the different Excellencies. We're not Essence 3 yet, so no signatures. However, it's a warstrider game, so most of the distinctiveness is in their Evocations....

replied to Tell me about your Lunar mates
Bulb of the Perfected Lotus leads a tribe out in the Far East, where she successfully subdued her Solar mate for walking into her territory. Her Solar mate, Bitter Sap, was mistaken about the relative status of gods and Exalted - Bulb of the Perfected Lotus corrected her mate's misguided worship of Arilak, and inducted her mate into the tribal life she leads. Bulb of the Perfected Lotus practices Falling Blossom Style, though she's not enmeshed far enough into the martial arts world to know what a joke her name would be when attached to a Lunar among more world-wise practitioners. She has three...

  • I think having an immortality Hearthstone keeping Mnemon young is an interesting and playable circumstance. The players can alter it (storm the Manse!), it has harmony between the narrative and mechanics, and even the art! (Mnemon is pictured building a Manse with demonic laborers in 2e Core).

I typically depict the Realm-born as east Asian in appearance. Yes, especially with found eggs, a variety of skin-tones and hair colors are observed, but I play them as exceptions rather than the rule. I particularly like some bit of lore (perhaps from Compass: Wyld) that says the nearest...

I wrote up a few Lunar elders (7? depends on what you mean by elder) over on the archive, and each come with roleplaying hints on their character sheet entry. Here's the elder entries for No Moon:

So, a contempt for the Exalted? The (perhaps not mistaken?) belief that you can do anything? Detachment from mortal concerns, certainly, but that will take several flavors....

  • The discovery of truth in its predictive form. The ability to tell the future through observing the present and past. An understanding of our world that matches the course of future events. As an example, both the necessary knowledge to know the chemical reaction that will drive a piston, as well the materials science to contain and direct that force for locomotion. The ability to coax agriculture into yields our ancestors would have considered magical. And how shit-slow any of that type of thing was when there were fewer of us, and most scratched subsistence from the earth all day.
