    Hello again.

A warning to our readers. Lilith's trials necessarily deal with Desus. When we post Lilith, we'll be upping the story's rating to mature and adding the tags associated with their domestic violence. So, for those in for a teen-rated good time, please skip Lilith's 'The Trials We Face' chapter....

  • So it is! I'll just provide a few ideas.

Archery - I would like SHLiHN to inspire bow-less telekinesis Archery. That would be a real neat new take.

Awareness - I'd like to see some Malfeas-themed version of Eye of the Unconquered Sun. "I'm so overwhelming, you cannot possibly hide from my might."

Craft - Malfeas by way of Ligier. He has quite the panalopy, hand-crafted.

Investigation - SWLiHN by way of Munaxes. All those betraying whispers!

Lore - Cecelyne by way of Orabilis. Destroyer of Wisdom!

    Martial...

  • To directly answer the questions, no, I would be very unlikely to run a PC Fair Folk game, yes, I would be very likely to include a Fair Folk antagonist, maybe, I would likely have a portion, but not a complete game, have scenes or stories in the Wyld, Their powers should work like dreams and nightmares made 'real', and I don't think the writer has any special obligation to prevent memification - leave that to the table's preference.

But, for my preferences, I want gradients! I'd love a Fair Folk book that says to me, the reader, in a sidebar "We know this is weird. You can...

On a much happier note, I am transcribing the December episode currently, and we have a recording session scheduled two days hence. So January should be good as well. We all hope to be doing this for a very long time, simply because it is fun to create things, and Exalted is a wonderful framework in which to plant those creations.

I have thought about both Patreon and approaching White Wolf (the owners of the IP, which Onyx Path licenses) and have chosen to do neither at this time. According to The Dark Pact (which has been clarified to apply to the Exalted IP as well) "You may not charge any fees or accept any donations in connection with Your Material."

Now, there's room for interpretation on whether a podcast fits the criteria of "Your Material" ((1) the presentation of World Wide Web pages; (2) non-graphical online games such as: MUSHes, MUDs, MOOs, IRC and all similar chat environments;...

    replied to Imagining the Shogunate
I like to imagine the Shogunate as a more direct reaction to the High First Age, politically. Instead of 300 god-kings, known across Creation, treated as rulers wherever they went, there were thousands of Shoguns who were, outside of their prefectures, just another Dragon-Blooded. Within those prefectures, they ruled a tiny military dictatorship, but the whole edifice was lacking a central government by design. Instead, religion and the Sidereals nudged interests into line, so that neighboring militaries would aid each other in cases of famine, Anathema sighting, or Wyld incursion. Faceless...

replied to How complicated should Infernals be?
I favor/prefer broken, incoherent, grab bag effects in the Infernal Charmset. By the time of the Infernals in an edition's run, it needs shaken up, and a little madness does the trick. Reflecting broken, jarred beings in this meta way is, for me, a feature, not a bug. Also I'm a sucker for transhumanism, which may color my opinion.

I get your point about having to read the Yozis to understand the Charms, but I have faith that the writers can loop it the other way around - by reading the Infernals Charmset, you come to know the Yozis. To grognards like you and me, not having...

It's a meta-podcast. We aren't playing our characters in any kind of rules-mediated way. We're discussing Exalted's lore with some question prompts. Though my compatriots do tend to let their character's biases creep into the discussion.

I suggest the 'inanimate wonders' section of Oadenol's page 155.

Frankincense is a real-world one you might use. Any spice grown far away cheaply, but due to religious reasons is needed right here and is bought at a high price. Just substitute Yaweh, England, and Frankincense with The Golden Lord, An-Teng, and some Eastern spice whose name you can completely make up (perhaps by stealing a WoW herb name and description).

    Ahem... Leather.

As for the Archtype, it could be 'the natural disasters that walk as people among us whom we call the Dragon-Blooded'. The mask could be any stylized version of Aspect markings. And the intimacy could be 'Be completely obsequious, do not attract this woman's notice' (Minor Principle). Then your social character could make a social attack like "You'll do this for me, right? Because you don't want any trouble..."

replied to A Bad Idea to Indulge
I agree with this presentation. Recall that Primordials are multiple things, a world, a humaniform jouten, and their entire soul structure. So the Neverborn would each be their own tomb-world (as varied as the forests of Szoreny and the trackless desert of Cecelyne), inhabited by deadly ghosts (as varied, though less life-filled, as Ligier, Zsofika, and the tomescu), and haunted by a central intelligence (who probably has some sort of weird hobby, like Malfeas and dancing)....

  • I want an Alchemical martial arts style with Essence cannons as the style weapons based around the 'alien' elements of Creation heavily infused with Megaman themes called Weapons Ready Style.

But that's only because I wrote it for 2e and never got a chance to play it.

No, she just considered genocide against all other human races, only waiting to make sure her octo-spawn are sufficient hosts for Solar Exaltation before she gets serous about it. Her 'transformation' of the human race would involve no forcible conversions, being entirely ethnic cleansing.

Her goal, as far as I can tell, is use her nigh-limitless Solar power to make her feel better about hurting someone she loved (her Lunar mate). It's not working very well.

I will say, that re-reading Dreams of the First Age after having read 3e sorcery causes me suspend disbelief...

  • You might also consider primary schools, though that puts a cap on age of 15 (see Dragon-Blooded 2e page 20). That way, there's less stigma against being unExalted, and getting into the same secondary school could be a plot point for the campaign. Also, the schools are less 'themed' and more 'general', which may fit your characters better.

    Lunar Castebooks Project

Greetings, fellow forumites. My co-author and I are overjoyed to reveal this project we've been working on all year here, on archive of our own (AO3). It is a fan project covering all the Lunar Castebooks we both wish were real, Changing Moon, Full Moon, No Moon, and Casteless. We won't be posting it all right away, but we will be posting five times a week (M/W/F/Sa/Su). Every so often I'll post some direct links here.

I know we won't hit everyone's collective personal ideals for Lunars, (who could? That Venn diagram has no intersection) but I do hope we can give everyone some enjoyable...
