  • Admittedly Sense Biokinesis might be more useful if anyone could have it.

  • Okay. I did figure a lot is still up in the air as of yet-I was just curious what direction things might take. I understand everything is still in planning or even pre-planning, final results not guaranteed, void where prohibited, and so on.

Intentions about rules for other ages

So, Talents will be detailed in Trinity Core. Psions will be in Aeon, and Novas will be in Aberrant. That still leaves us with a reboot of Adventure! as well as the planned Aegis and others.

Will there be any changes to how different powers/character types work in different settings rules-wise, or will that all be pretty much set? Like, originally Adventure's Stalwarts and Mesmerists were similar to but rules-wise fairly different from Novas and Psions; do we know if that's going to be the case again? Or will Adventure, Aegis, etcetera be mostly setting detail without much change...

  • Considering how incredibly shitty psi powers are at the low levels, focusing on breadth over specialization seems largely punitive.

  • I would say yes, they can be active at once, but you are only getting the benefit of the strongest of the two effects. So if a "I turn into fire" nova has both 2 dots worth of Immolate in her Body morph and a three dot Immolate, then she only gets the benefit of the three dot power "burning hotter".

Now what I might do as a Storyteller is say the character could buy say, higher levels of Immolate at a discount - such that you only have to buy any levels above whatever you effectively have with Bodymorph - but this isn't really in the rules anywhere.

  • No, Boost is basically terrible. Right off hand, I believe buying it with extras may be worthwhile, such that you can use it on others, and buying it affecting another two attributes is cheaper than buying both attribute together I think, but by itself it isn't great.

Claws is mostly better for being cheaper than Crush, and the damage boost from Claws costs less Quantum. For Range I would assume buying the Range Extra would likely be acceptable.

Disorient would probably be broken if most targets were not going to have big dice pools already. You might also not survive...

  • Well, since you asked...

I like drums for Biokinesis. I think the primal sound is really appropriate for the aptitude.

For Clairsentience I like woodwinds. Bluesy harmonica and saxophone work really well for the whole "Lunar detective" vibe I like with the clears, although you could make an argument for the more spiritual approach of bells.

Electrokinesis is electronic instruments. Sees obvious really.

I like brass for the Legions due to the long-standing military association, although an argument could be made for drums here too....

  • If each aptitude had an associated musical instrument family...

    would quantakinesis be the strings?

    ...I'll see myself out.
