  • When I look for real world setting I look for settings that kind of fit the theme I am trying to convey in the game.

    1) I chose the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota because I love the vibe I get when watching Fargo the Movie and TV Show and feel that it matches the tone I want to set in my Vampire The Masquerade game. Basically kind of being seclude from the cannon and having more eerie/personal horror stories.

    2) I chose Juarez for my Sabbat game because I watched the American version of the FX TV show "The Bridge" and found myself very disturbed...

  • I actually run a Sabbat game on our channel and at first was waaaaaay intimidated, but Revised Guide to the Sabbat really helped.

Gotcha, I can dig that, I just meant I don't use the concept of TF just because it doesn't fit in what I am trying to do. Nothing against it at all, and I can respect its use in games....

If I was ever to have true faith in one of my games it would be a NPC, a mortal, and a rare case indeed and not always signify good. An example would be something equivalent to a religious terrorist who did a suicide mission or something to that extent. I believe, in this world of ours, real true faith without a lingering doubt is a rarity.

  • I, myself, am a huge proponent of keeping the game lines separate. I don't like the feeling at all that they could be in the same continuity. Now I will throw random references in different game lines to kind of give the feel of continuity, but it is usually mortal NPCS. For example, I mentioned a mortal motorcycle club in passing in my Chronicles of Darkness game, that was in a Vampire: the Masquerade game I ran. Just in passing, not involved in the plot or anything.

I always took away from Revised that that Giovanni could very well be their own sect with their sub families and especially the Assamites.
